Hi all,

My experience on Upgrading to Win 10.

1. Using the normal Windows Update but no luck...indicate Failed error code 80240020.

2. Tried delete the Sofware distribution folder files and command prompt to start download. Windows 10 downloading but failed again.

3. Use the Media Creation Tool and try create a USB bootable installer but can not detect my flash drive.

4. Change to Upgrade this PC and Something Happened pop out. haizzzz.

Now after reading this forum.. I will try to change the Language and see how it goes.

If it is still not working then I bring my laptop to Thunder Match and see how much they charge for the upgrading service.

Really unfortunate a few of forumers experince the same.

Will try again tonight.

Will change language (location plus administrator), turn off anti virus if any (not sure I have it), turn off fire wall.

Will be using Media Creation Tool Upgrade this PC. For info mine is Win 7 Home 64 bit.

Thanks for sharing and good luck in upgrading.

Thanks.

Upgraded at the weekend.

I changed language back to English (US) and and no problems after that.

After upgraded to Win 10, I reset my laptop to factory setting and have a clean install. Works fine thereafter.

Any suggestion form all the bros here?

I have 2 PC. An Acer laptop running Win 7 and Surface Pro 3 running Win 8.1.

Acer was upgraded to Win 10 unsing the Media Creation Tool by using the Upgrade this PC mode. Successfully upgraded to Win 10 after changing the language to English (US). Thereafter, factory reset to remove everything to have a clean install. Successful, everything working fine.

Next, upgrade my Pro 3 by the windows updates. No problem. Everthing working fine included Wifi, audio, Chrome and player.

Wanted to do a factory reset by Recovery, but when I choose either of the options there, the pop out window indicate I need a installation CD. When I choose revert back to Win 8.1 (within 30 days), message said the recovery file have been deleted.

How do I go about it if I want to reset my PRO 3 to have a clean install of Win 10?
