Stability test varies.

Simple one, use Realbench run 15 minutes enough. AIDA64 also can but I don't know how good it is.

Want tougher test go OCCT 1 hour.

What slowly increase ah? I go the other way around

Straight start from 1.4Ghz with 1.45vcore. Work from there down.

Sorry write wrong. It's 4Ghz. biggrin.gif

It takes far less time when you start high and slowly drop the voltage.

4Ghz with 1.45vcore is ok. This is to test whether it can run on 4Ghz.

If at 4Ghz with 1.45vcore still not successful then not good already, continue dropping speed until stable. After that, maintain the speed and drop the vcore until stable.

You tried before with stock cooler? I wonder if it can withstand 1.45vcore? Plus what air cooler now available with am4 socket? I'm interested with noctua NH-D15 but most of it don't have am4 bracket..

Not stock cooler, that's for sure.

Just read up what overclock and voltage people usually get in their reviews and you have a basic idea on the cap.

Put the same setting as theirs see if yours works.

I give up on hoping to get 4.1Ghz, it's tough and vcore is high, no guarantee too.

4Ghz seems to be quite common, vcore requirement varies.

3.9Ghz seems to be one easily attainable.

Keep trying.

goldfries's method are more recommended, because you will want higher voltage that's stable all time, than lower voltage that might cause issue when you didnt expected.
Starting voltage can always refer other experienced overclocker's setting.
