Hey, you guys have MSI B350 Tomahawk? Read some forum saying that there is problem with booting up that sometimes can boot, sometimes take too long. Wondering whether i should spend more to Asrock X370 gaming K4 or not.
*
I read it in reddit, many B350 tomahawk user does complain longer boot time. Still I'm aiming tomahawk arctic version ( no stock now )

Same as Asrock also laa, it is AMD fault, check this if you read Mandarin
For those who dont read Mandarin, basically AMD has released a new Agesa 1.0.0.4a code which will improved booting time & able to support full 4xddr4@2666mhz, mobo manufactures should able to provide new bios. However for my Asrock K4 i don't see the booting time is improve enough, still quite slow, just that now able to use 4xDDR4@2666mhz, i'm happy rclxms.gif

did u disable csm and turn on ultra fast boot?

actually for asrock, they already patched the microcode to 1.0.0.4 in newest bios, but due to some error, some utility like hwinfo still report old version.

*info from asrock support

To be honest i'm not really concerns about the booting time, few second slower is ok, hence i'm not purposely modify the bios setting to get it boot faster, and ya in fact the newest microcode 1.0.0.4a was builtin to the latest bios last week if not mistaken.

some user suggest that by disable csm and turn on ultra fast boot, it reduce their boot time at least 60%.

yup, new microcode is included with latest bios, but somehow aida and hwinfo still report old version.

given the high price of x370 titanium, some overclock.net user feel regret due to it use cheaper component
MSI B350 Tomahawk should be fine, but its price is more expensive compare to other b350. mayb can top up a bit to get asrock x370 killer/k4.

about the boot issue, mostly it is due to the memory compatibility.
*
Yup, even titanium is cheaper component than other other x370 top tier, below titanium cheaper than even a asrock x370 killer...
I personally wont go to msi due to the component its use, not worth, except fanboy =w=

In fact there is no guarantee even the motherboard manufacturers stated it under their QVL list, currently the only RAM that specifically tuned for AMD Ryzen is GSkill FlareX which may have high chance but too bad not available locally.

Was aiming at this, too. Where/how much did you get it? I've been using Gigabyte boards for the past several builds and gotta say I like them in general.

U might have compatibility issue as usually manufacturer will test the ram in pair (for dual channel) & 4pcs kit (for quad channel) ensure it can run in XMP setting.
