I search thru online 1.45v for 1700 to run at 4GHz quite common actually, there are few considered as golden chip can run below 1.4v but very rare.
My Bitspower block do not have AM4 socket so i bought cheaper option which is China brand called Barrow, according to review its performance is on par with EK since Barrow copycat from EK
Btw i saw MSI arctic board available in lelong, maybe you can check with the seller.

I drop it to 3.9GHz voltage 1.312 for my daily driver.

At the final result, u failed to have 1.4ghz with 1.4v or below? XD Nice rig u have @@ i hope can go to water cooling in future if got more budget =w=

4.0ghz that you are talking about right? And yes my chip can't do 4.0ghz below 1.4v

Oops @@ but u done 3.9ghz with maybe not the best but really sweet spot for 1.312v, but over 1.45v is too much different for 100mhz @@

I'm gonna get an used gtx1060 tomolo, my time for build up my rig for test oc =w=

I'm googled and found out that stock cooler is run nice within 1.35v, more than that will over 80'c under stress test @@

If cant get a nice oc under 1.35v, i might grab an used unit of AIO water cooling or grab a air cooler from garage sales .

Good luck,and yea ryzen cpu temperature nice below 1.35v, more than that will consume lot of power which generate lot of heat. I have a friend who his 1700 and asus crosahair mobo died after he put his pc overnight, he not even oc yet, very strange

3.8 - 3.9 is sweet spot. Going 4Ghz feels good but too much power on vcore.

The thing about Ryzen is that even if it registers 80c the heatsink still feels cool to the touch.

No wonder i check my coolant temperature it is around 30+ degree celcius, but the cpu temperature already 60over @@

He told me the pc can't boot anymore, so just send for RMA for both items.

After all ryzen is a new platform, so there are still many improvement and optimisation can be done with it.

If simply prefer high clock speed and oc, better go with Intel.

Hey, you guys have MSI B350 Tomahawk? Read some forum saying that there is problem with booting up that sometimes can boot, sometimes take too long. Wondering whether i should spend more to Asrock X370 gaming K4 or not.

If willing to increase budget, its sure Asrock x370 better than MSI B350 range, even k4 is not the high end of X370. I'm dunno what is the cause of MSI B350 tomahawk, but Asrock X370 k4 range using better quality component than mostly of MSI mobo range except high end MSI X370 titanium.

MSI B350 Tomahawk should be fine, but its price is more expensive compare to other b350. mayb can top up a bit to get asrock x370 killer/k4.

about the boot issue, mostly it is due to the memory compatibility.
