I have a 21 year-old Honda Accord SV4 current at km250k. It is now my spare car and I hardly use it ~300km/month. How often should I change the Lub and how do I minimise the maintenance service? Thanks in advance.

go for something like amsoil XL/signature series, and change the oil filter every 6 month and full drain (and oil filter) on the second 6 month aka 1 year.

consider reading up the first page for more info and even check out some of the used oil analysis i've done before to PROVE that EO can potentially last 40k km/1 year intervals.

Under RM100. Price around RM9x for 4 quarts (semi)

Engine feel lighter & more responsive. That was tested on SAGA FLX.

Nex will change on my BT & Iswara - currently on LM & Castrol Magnetec

can consider something like on page 2?
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=69644307

the purpose of this thread after all is to bring back the long lost technical talk sub forum, as well as to eliminate vague feedback/responses that doesn't help much.

sure it feels lighter, but how light?
and for *most* people, wouldn't that be the natural thing right after an oil change?
could it be placebo? or just the fact that your previous oil degraded and changing fresh engine oil restored performance/response?

Exactly. After an oil change it'll definitely feel light.

that's no longer the case for me ever since i started this (the thread, passionate about car, lubricants etc)

oil change has got to be among the most boring thing unless i am changing (mainly upgrading) brand/models/viscosity as the oil i drain out didn't degrade hence i no longer get that "oil change everything feels lighter/more responsive" feel any more

no reason to change semi when reputable/good fully synthetics aren't much more expensive compared to semi and you can have at least 10k km/6 month OCI

a bit more:
http://www.mobil.com/UK-English/Lubes/PDS/...Life_0W-40.aspx

http://www.mobil.com/UK-English/Lubes/PDS/...0_XE_5W-30.aspx

3000 looks like old/sub par product.
afaik mobil 1 has always been the top of the line.

US seems to have different product as well:

That's cheap. From Tesco I assume? That's Europe blend. Monitor your oil quality and feel and keep the OCI below 8k. It most likely won't be able to last 10k.

And void warranty? Why would you want to risk that? Honda parts aren't cheap
