Yes, u need to call CS & ask to remove cancelled cards.

just to confirm if my card expiry is August, I should expect the AF to be charged this month right?

WTA: for those who cancel this card, do u get retention team calling and offer waiver of AF?

Do MBB have such procedure like other bank?

No retention team call back if you have other MBB cards. Only if u cancel all cards.

In huge dilemma now. If my card AF is charged this month should I spend using the card now? Just in case I need to cancel the card I won't be getting the cash back on 2nd Aug right?

Yup, if you cancel the card now you wont be getting the CB in Aug. Maybe you can check with CS on the exact date or month it will be charged.

Have they removed the 5% for grocery? I swiped at Aeon SMKT on 20 June but did not get any CB on 1st or 2nd July.

I got full rebate for paying bills at Sams Nu. May be the Aeon supermarket changed the MCC code?

Not sure as it is still marked as SMKT. Have emailed CS to inqiure.

I purchase groceries at AEON Supermarket in Midvalley, 1 utama and Tmn Maluri with 5% rebate last month

Yup, a few other guys also got it.

Didn't swipe VS for quite some time, so just to check again, transaction on 20th June, the 5% CB should be posted on 1st or 2nd of July right?

Also, the 5% amount is less than RM1. Even it is just few cents, it should be credited right? No policy that it must be over RM1.

Maybank CS is getting worse by days, no respond to email at all.

I was disappointed by MBB today.
Calling the CS hotline took more than 15mins to get connected to a person.
Ask about the waiver request.
Told it was "rejected" because I didn't achieve the RM50k annual spend (DUH !!!).

Subsequently I requested ask to cancel the card.... at least 2 days to revert and cancel the card.

Yeap, something is wrong with Maybank CS nowadays in terms of efficiency (emails/calls). Just few years back, they were among the best.

Agreed! Whilst many other companies have stepped up their game, MBB seem to be regressing.

My experience with the waiver is as follows. I knew my card anniversary waa some time in June, so I called CS in May to confirm if I had hit the 50k (just to double check). They were very blur and couldn't confirm the actual date the fee would be charged, or if I would be eligible for waiver. So I ended up calculating myself by going through my past statements. In June, the fee popped up in my statement but was auto reversed on the same day.

I've put a reminder in my calendar to cancel my card next year, as the 5% cashback, while nice to have, doesn't justify the fee or hassle. Sticking to my trusty combination of AEON, HLB Wise, PBB VS (+2 supps), CIMB CR (+2 supps) UOB Vox and UOB Lady's. Those are generally low maintenance and give me sufficient cashback to cover my spending patterns. Pity none of them cover petrol, but I can live with that.

call them during normal working hours, then your call will be pickup within 5 minutes. Previously they outsource their call centre service to vendor, but now they dont outsource it anymore, that is why you see their CS quality drops a lot
