I've just received my VS from MBB. I am surprised that the physical card of VS looks so much better than the MBB Premier cards. In fact, better than any other cards from MBB.

But yeah, this card looks a little ridiculous in terms of spending for waiver.

Maybe year end, gonna cancel this card in favor of the Premier card.
*
I switched my Premier card for the Visa signature. Reason is because the Premier card doesn't offer anything attractive to me at all compared to the the VS.

QUOTE(kit2 @ Nov 19 2015, 10:44 PM)
easier to get waiver if premier?

No exemptions. AF with 80K spending.

Premier offers air miles, something which I could use + overspend spending on behalf would easily rake up my air miles and AF waiver.

Compared to VS which provides daily CB for Groceries and Petrol, I already have other cards which can compliment that already.

And Oh, Premier has some dining deals which I could use as well tongue.gif
*
I see. As much as I wanted to, I will not want to divert some of my points to another card company even they have some attractive cashback. True about the dinning Premier has to offertoo.

The website now states:
Does it mean that the min amount that we can redeem is no longer 400?
*
You still can redeem 400 points=RM1 instead of 40000 points=RM100 if you do not have this amount.

i see but i wonder why do they change the statement then? by the way, how to redeem, call CS?
*
Hello:
Today I tried to redeem all my TP from my VS. Apparently, they have changed the rules to only redeem 40K TP per block! This is yucks anyway. It used to be 400TP = RM1, now you need to accumulate 40000TP=RM100 instead.

Oh yeah, you will need to call in to have these redeemed.

Well yeah, i though so too. Very tricky of them!

Yeah, anyway, to get the waiver we need to spend 50K, so... 40K isn't hard to achieve.

I was told it was 40k per block as well when I got this card.
For people earning 70k to spend 50k, that's a brilliant move there by MBB to drive people to bankruptcy tongue.gif
*
Well, if I were to earn 70K p.a I won't even consider about this card. That kind thinking is like those earning just enough in order to apply for a hire purchase for a car they cannot afford to maintain if you get what I mean...

RM 50k and 40k TP is different. laugh.gif

QUOTE(laymank @ Nov 23 2015, 08:36 AM)
Is that for Cash redemption?
I remembered being told the same - in the block of RM100.

But 2 weeks ago, I went to card center and redeemed some cash vouchers. There is no constraints on this block thingy.
*
For cash vouchers - any amount especially redeeming Jusco vouchers. You should not be using VS for vouchers redemption because your TP is a scarce.

If you could do RM1800 per month for the petrol and groceries, then I think is worth it to pay for the RM550 annual fee since you will  get RM1056 per year for the rebate. So instead of spending additional RM30k for a RM75 rebate, it would be better to use the RM30k on other card giving higher return (higher than 0.25% cash back) or treatspoint.
*
You're on the cashback for the VS if we utilize the card full for petrol and groceries @ RM88 per months. It's not hard to earn the full cashback though for some.

However, how I do it is I still keep my M2Cards, hide away the Visa and keep the AMEX for purchases that allowed me to make use of the AMEX card so that I can earn that 5X points anyway.

how do we gonna track our spendings ah? check one by one on statements? xD
*
It's based on the month calendar. You can track it yourself by looking at the statements or call the MBB CS. What they will do is to sum up your total transactions from the day you received the card till date.

Ah...thanks for highlighting this..just noticed this in my Jan '16 statement. My spending for 2015 is around 30K+ and 12K(with BT), total 42K(not sure whether BT is included as part of 'spending').

Requested CS to waive and the PIC  told me that it'll take them around 5-6 working-day to review my request.

Slim chance...within next week can know, have to be prepared to cut this cut if they refuse to waive it, even though it's very useful sad.gif

I used the M2C Premier previously before considering to apply for this VS. The M2CP is only good for those who travels a lot because of the miles conversion. Apart from that, nothing is great about this card.

Even though the benefits of the VS is not as cool as before especially after having the plaza lounge privilege removed, it's still a good card especially when you're pumping petrol or buying groceries at a rate of ~1.8k per month. I normally able to max out this cash back and hence RM88 every month.

As for other retails which accepts AMEX, I will still make use of AMEX from the M2CP. Which will earn some miles, not forgetting about the 5X TP.

Guys:
This CC is a great card if you can spend RM50K p.a. and a max cashback of RM88 p.m.

If you can't achieve the RM50K spending, perhaps you may want to try out other cash back cards.

Guys:
I am not sure if this question has been asked before. Is the payment to Education bodies entitled 1XTP using MBB VS? Or does not entitle any?

Yes, their CS quality has dropped. Yesterday I called them to inquire about the TP also took them about 5 minutes to answer the call and some of my questions were not answered.

Suggest to cancel all MBB cards if you think their CS are very bad.
If were to say MBB are bad, PBB and HLB are worst in banking industry.
*
If there are any cards out there which I think better than MBB's, then for sure I would cancel the cards. So far, still I find what they have to offer is better compared to the rest.

Keep cool guys. This forum is designed for us to share our opinions.

@kengyan
I would like to thank you for your comment on my post but you really need some EQ while posting some comments like this. Instead of asking me not to make any noise just because I mentioned the delay of CS answering my calls, you should at least just let me know you aren't facing that and this is sufficient.
