I guess shutter is the only reason that make it back focus, because I have tried few different lens but back focus still occurs
*
I would think the shutter mechanism is separated from the focusing mechanism. Then again, I could be wrong.
Do they all backfocus by a similar amount ? Perhaps check the microAF adjustment settings on your camera.

If that fails, then should just give it a check at the service centre.

I found out recently my camera is back focus no matter which lens i mounted on it.
Btw, I mean PJ area.

send to Canon service center, they will check the problem of your camera, and quote you the price.
Canon will always ask your agreement on the price before they repair your camera

Hi again everyone, has anyone have experience in dealing online with YL Camera (http://www.ylcamera.com.my)? I kinda want to buy a used Canon body in that shop, but have some hesitation regarding its credibility. hmm.gif

They have physical shops and can be trusted.

Just hacked the 650D with magic lantern but have no clue how to get 1080p60. Think someone on these forums said it could with magic lantern. Anyone know how to get such a thing?

Or is it Raw 720p60 blown up to 1080p60 in post? (I can't seem to work the record in raw either)

I want to know if I can improve the video quality for slow mo because the 720p60 standard looks like a moire wild jagged line fest footage. Really not nice to use at all.

720p 60fps seems normal
No moire whatsoever.

AFAIK, 1080p 60FPS is not possible.

No moire at all on Canon 650D? maybe I mix the term up with aliasing? Because from far distance I see car grills and house roof tops going wild. The subject is the car and all the lines on the car are a bit wild. SO i hope you're talking about how 720p60 in raw has no more of those issues?

Moire is caused by spatial compression, so shooting at 720p will definitely make it more obvious compared to 1080p.
However 650D raw is barely even touching 720p at lesser than 30fps. Anything more will give you less than 10 seconds of footage.
Just shooting raw won't help with moire. Shooting raw while zoomed in will eliminate moire.

Nah, I record 60fps on regular H.264 (60D, 600D, D600, D3300)
I don't face any moire in most condition.
Unless of course I'm actually pointing my camera at stripes(or any repeated patterns) on purpose.

And for slow-mo(only time I shoot 60fps), my preference is always close-ups (people) or a properly framed shot. Having a thin DOF helps too.
It's not hard to avoid the most obvious part of moire if you've control of the scene (for people scene).

Sometimes moire is really unavoidable(like in your case), shoot 1080p, zoom in record, get an additional screw on AA filter or post process.
If that still isn't good enough, you need to change gears.

Well thanks for the info. Was really hoping to get out more video quality with magic lantern. Maybe I'll just play around with the ML a bit more before uninstalling it. It doesn't look like any game changers and almost the same as the EOS M's magic lantern.

Well I'm looking at Sony RX10 for the slow mo stuff if I do plan to do more of this.

I wouldn't think there is much difference compared to EOS M magic lantern.
Raw on ML is still very wobbly.

As for video quality, you'll probably benefit more from cinestyle (technicolour or marvel)
It's quite painless to implement and the benefits are obvious(bump in video dynamic range).

thanks for the tip bro. i only see photos of temples and temple ruins when i search online.
im under the impression that the streets would be very run down and rustic.
anyways, would safety be an issue there? like lugging cameras and walk around the town.

No place is crime free so when walking down streets especially crowded places always take care of your camera. There are stories of thieves bumping into you. And when you look at your camera your lens is gone! Hard to chase the thieves in the crowded streets when you lose sight of them. Many L lenses have been stolen in China like this. L lenses are targeted as easy to identify its an expensive lens with that red ring and sold for good money 2nd hand.

Siam Reap rise because of discover of Angkor Wat, nth else u can visit beside those temples (actually i quite bore at 3rd day of visiting those temples XD)
or you can consider tonel sap, i do not go to that place.
for the safety u saying, due to raining, i leave my camera in hotel room, and do not manage to walk around the town at night. (my lens grow fungus, and my camera shutter button malfunction after i came back Malaysia that time, need to sent them to service doh.gif )
