Just my opinion, i am not sure how often Canon release firmware update for its camera
If they do release the 750D, maybe a minor tweak done to the 750D eg. the video quality aspect you wanted. This can be done with a firmware upgrade, but instead they release a newer model to do the 'upgrade'. Pushing customer for the newer model. Same sensor since 550D to 700D, hope Canon can come out a bigger spec difference compared to the previous gen even is a beginner model. Not just announcing a model for the sake of announcing.

Most yearly DSLR updates for levels are
1. Slightly better iso performance
2. Slightly better AF
3. Add WiFi
4. Add touchscreen/flip screen
5. Better burst shot
6. Better video fps/resolution.
Essentially it's just a roullete and pick a new features from there.
Nothing new. Nothing groundbreaking.
Eg of what I would like to see :
implementing hyperlapse app into the camera. An in camera video editor with working gyroscope to create smooth hyperlapses. This will definitely sell well.
Programmable focus for video capturing in certain lenses. (aka rack focus on magic Lantern)
Smooth 1080p crop mode during video. Zoom in and out during video smoothly and still maintain that 1080p resolution.
Extremely fast wireless AC mode to stream to a computer. Heck. Can even stream raw or very high dynamic range video formats.
A fast and low noise foveon sensor or a resolution/sensitivity lytro sensor.
