thanks guys for your feedbacks!
hmm, just another thing, i heard many photographers, ditched DSLR and bought a compact camera with long lens instead, what is the reasons ya in your opinion?

and also, this seller is selling below market price, i heard from my friend it may be tax evaded stocks. i'm 90% will buy from him though. price wise, okay?

you mean this kind of super zoom camera?
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q110superzoomgroup
good side is you got full zoom range with 1 bundle, no need think to invest lens or other accessories. it's light (compare to DSLR) and convenience if you love shot objects like birds from far away, since you pay less for that range of zoom, compare to DSLR

that set is imported set from Japan, that do not cover by Canon Malaysia warranty, only comes with 1 year Canon international warranty.

Hey all, is there any recommended online seller? I wanna buy Canon 50mm F1.8.
*
not really recommend to get lens thru online, 1st the delivery is risky, if you ever see how courier services handle those shipment parcel you will scare of those fragile parcels.

2nd is better to take body to test the lens on the spot, check for any damage on the lens.

send to Canon service center, they will check the problem of your camera, and quote you the price.
Canon will always ask your agreement on the price before they repair your camera

Siam Reap is a small town, if spend some time walking there mayb can find some interesting subject.
but need to check weather, last time I went during raining season, no sunrise/sunset shot, not even walking around the town, the rain fall day and night non stop sad.gif

thanks for the tip bro. i only see photos of temples and temple ruins when i search online.
im under the impression that the streets would be very run down and rustic.
anyways, would safety be an issue there? like lugging cameras and walk around the town.
*
Siam Reap rise because of discover of Angkor Wat, nth else u can visit beside those temples (actually i quite bore at 3rd day of visiting those temples XD)
or you can consider tonel sap, i do not go to that place.
for the safety u saying, due to raining, i leave my camera in hotel room, and do not manage to walk around the town at night. (my lens grow fungus, and my camera shutter button malfunction after i came back Malaysia that time, need to sent them to service doh.gif )

hahha will cover the red ring with a rubber band. thanks for the advice sifu.
thats a good suggestion, tonle sap. almost forgotten about that. thumbup.gif

will post some photos of my trip when i get back. will go with my big dslr for shots that i have more time with, and will have another compact one for the streets.
i imagine the streets to be something like petaling street. that sort of environment?
*
there is a pub street at Siam Reap, the environment will like bukit bintang, the time i went is low season, not really crowded, you may explore some other site, mayb can find something interesting.

jz need to watch out hitting your camera on the staircase when climbing the temple accidentally, the staircase are narrow and high

people will not judge a picture by:
wah, this picture no noise, it's a good picture
or
wah, this picture so noisy, it's a bad picture

same goes to sharpness and bokeh

For events go ahead and have high ISO.  Girls like it when you do post noise reduction and also smoothing their skin.  I like shooting at iso 1600 with flash.  It gets a brighter background which looks much better than low iso flash shots with a very dark background.  I can't explain why this is.
That depends on the kind of photo you're taking. Long exposure on tripod with high f8-11 aperture and ISO 100 to shoot a night scene of a city.  The results do bring a much bigger waaaaahh when compared to shooting handheld shot at iso 3200 - 6400.
*
of course if you using a tripod, and ur subject is still subject, you can lower down the ISO, if shoot long exposure in high iso, ur picture over expose liao laugh.gif
not to mention, long exposure also can cause noise to picture due to sensor heating.

just in case when you do not have tripod with you, getting a shake free image and iso noise, noise will come later, i do not mean that i do not care of noise, but sometimes if need to scarified iso for faster shutter speed, i will go for it.

hi guys ,
I just bought my eos 60 d few days ago.
think kena conned d...
this is what i bought and the freebies they gave.
~eos 60 d (body)
~efs 18~135 lens kit
~32 gb 30mb toshiba mcard ( free)
~16 gb 30mb toshiba mcard (free)
~Extra battery 6000 m (top up rm 100)
~Lens filter (free)
~Macro and wide conversion lens ( think cost ard rm 1100)
~bag (canon) (free)

Total RM 4380
That salesman said that the wide conversion lens cost rm 3200 and doing promotion so is rm 1100.

you guys think i kena conned gao gao D?
*
Macro and wide conversion lens -->what is that, can post picture?
sometime, have to be firm to what you want to get only, no extra thing. a lot sales person will tend to ask u get this get that

what i met before, i go to buy a filter, then the guy ask me, what camera u using? what lens u have? after i answer him, he keep saying u need this lens to cover the focal length la this that.... u need that lens la.... screw him, i dun need those lens at all.

Getting my 6D from KLDSLR soon

Want to ask, i dont get what is viewfinder, i know it is the hole u look thru it.

But what does it says by 97% coverage(6D) and 100% coverage?(5dmkiii, 1DX)
in comparitive it is just a 3% diffrent, practical this number is relative small. but it is so important that will affect ur photography?
*
the actual picture you taken slight more than what you see thru viewfinder, that little part of your viewfinder at side is covered

example like this, you see thru viewfinder only area of the red box, but your actual picture is at white box. (this is just example, that not really illustrate 97% coverage, if not mistaken is 95% coverage)

jz forget it, and go explore ur new camera, u cant change anything now
what i can tell is, the salesperson is not really responsible, there are more different between 60D and 70D. he is like want to clear the 60D stock in his shop.
suggest to do some research of price and item detail before you get anything, for the thing u not really use or not sure what is that, hold your hand from getting it.

long exposure have to consider the environment light, but even at daylight, with ND, u also barely can get beyond 1s. (i got a cheapo 10x ND, and tried myself)

set the ISO at low, and aperture at smaller value, you can prolong the shutter speed, of course tripod is a must.

I think that there are still some situations where light painting is easier/better to achieve desired result compared to strobes. for example shooting large subject that requires equal spread of lighting like cars. i follow a lot of famous automotive photographers on facebook and most of them shoot with light painting in the night instead of strobes and the results are great biggrin.gif
the setup is pretty simple as goldfries said, just require a continuous lighting and perhaps a softbox for softer lighting. it's best to shoot in a pitch black environment to avoid ambient lighting from getting in smile.gif

maybe, i not really go in to light panting dont know much on that tongue.gif

i think it's quite difficult to find Li-Ion AA battery here, at least i do not see it myself, if not I prefer Li-Ion over NiMH batterh hmm.gif

Hi guys, i'm considering between to purchase the current canon 5d mark iii or should i wait for the upcoming canon 5d mark iv because i saw some article saying that it will be release this year. 5d mark iii has 22mp but the mark iv has 36mp in rumors. looks pretty amusing thou

what should i do on this issue? Mp really matter so much in photography?
*
do you print out your picture to poster size? actually 10MP is enough for normal printing, MP is just some way camera manufacturer promoting their products, to make ppl feel higher mp is better

Question guys...

I just bought 1 unit of flash and manage grab my self soft box ^^( thx goldfries your recommndation)

So right now is 1 430EXii and 1 yong nuo 560mkiv + 2 soft box

need to learn flash fast!

in Manual flash configuration, what does 1/1, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64 means? 1/1 highest?
and also , the 430 Exii output is lower than 560mkiv how should i manage the balance of light? place further? adjust the 1/32-> 1/64? Increase 430Exii +0.3/0.7 stop?

And 1 last thing im a bit confuse in exposure...

Look at these few photo

Why the exposure doesn't increase as drastic as when not using flash??

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*
what mode u using when shot the picture, if u using P or T mode, the camera will adjust the exposure according to flash output, if u want to work out with flash, got to use M mode.

that 1/1, 1/2 ... is power of flash, 1/64 is lowest, 1/1 is firing at full power of flash

But but,
My main focus is food photography...
What should be my first move? learn exposure right? post processing? white balancing?????

I bought 1 extra flash because i really need it.

I try to check my hosue surrouding it doesnt have nice window, near distant. the best is 1m away from the window.
So I tell my self, i have to use flash instead of relying on natural light
*
learn to get the thing right out from camera, do not rely too heavy on post processing. post processing is a process to transform your picture from 80% to 100%, not from 0% to 80%

move your table to window side la, ur food and camera is portable mah

turn to shot from different direction, see how is the outcome of the light direction from different angle.
