Hi sifus, I have a 600D (with SC of approx. 27500), at what price would be a good price to sell it away? I'd say the condition's still good with no fungus or dust inside. hmm.gif

Why wanna upgrade ? What limitation do you face (interested to know coz dun want see another one which 'follow' friend buta upgrade - well aside from having more $$ to burn)

yeahh, I have problem with mine too. It works intermittently and sometime it does focus but you can't take a shot. I was thinking of repairing it myself but not sure if there will be too much work involved. Anybody here tried repairing the unit themselves?

Now i need to get a telephoto zoom lens with limited budget

Canon 70-200 F4 IS USM
Tamron 70-200 F2.8 VC USD
Sigma 70-200 F2.8 OS HSM

3 of them around the same price range for a 2nd hand lens. Which is the prefer lens?

The tamron beats the sigma easily.

Ask yourself if you need f2.8, then the answer is obvious.

I would get Tamron because it is highly rated and does perform well optically. Tamron does make good third party zoom lenses. But then its also reported with many problems. I just sent my Tamron 17-50mm VC for repair. Going to see how they handle and price their repairs. Hope they do it fast too. When I look at what is malfunctioning it seems to be the aperture blades. Maybe the VC's vibrations are so strong in messes up the aperture blades. Just a theory because I really only hear the VC models getting problems.

If they do good in their service I probably still consider Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 VC and the Tamron 15-30mm F2.8 VC on future upgrades for the FF.

I've always wanted to have 70D ever since last year, so basically I've saved up enough money to buy one. Selling my 600D might ease a little "damage". That's basically why. tongue.gif

Also, is it wise if I sell my 24-105mm f4L and buy the 18-135mm IS STM? hmm.gif

I just collected my 7D from Peremba Square. They change the bottom PCB but the problem is the dust cover for wireless adapter at the bottom now tore. When I ask the technician they said it normal. I guess it not a big deal and ask what the price if I want to replace a new one. They quote RM50 for the dust cover that tore after they done they PCB replacement. Where exactly should I make a complain if anyone ever have something like this? Thank. Btw I cannot stay there too long because I need to rush back to work.

Its definitely better to have 18mm on crop sensor. IQ and build quality wise, the L wins easily.

On IQ, I guess so. But as mingyuyu has said, the 18mm end will be more useful for crop sensor and I guess the long end also has extra 30mm. My other opinion is that with 24-105mm wide open, I still usually shoot at ISO 800 in low light situation. The f/5.6 at 135mm should probably make me go to ISO 1600, which is noisier indeed, but I think the shots will still be usable after noise reduction with Lightroom. hmm.gif

you will never get 'balance' performance on body or lens...either you go for AF speed, optics colour or focal length. Remember EF-S lens only stay with crop where EF is both compatible.

I'm not going for full frame anyway. I'm just an enthusiast, so going full frame isn't really a goal. nod.gif

Woah! I know that it's always the man behind the gun that will make a significant difference. But since I always see the professional photographers (as in photography as a living) use full frame cameras, this is quite interesting for me. rolleyes.gif

it was never a need la.

i used APS-C for professional purpose for a good 5 years at least and have outdone many others who only know how to claim it's a NEED but not able to produce.

the problem with many forum users here is they only THINK FULL FRAME.

The early digital days were WITHOUT full frame.

Full frame only came a bit later but was never a need.

Many professionals go APS-C for good reasons and they still do. Many good cameras and photographers out there are using APS-C. Extremely skilled professional like Ming Thein uses Olympus OM-D EM1 for his assignments, and that's M43 mind you.

Some probably don't realize that a Foveon APS-C sensor still could be the crap out of Bayer Full Frame sensor.

oh and the most laughable part about this "Full Frame" argument is that people think FULL FRAME is where it ends. Sorry people, there's Medium and Large format.

anyway I'll leave this video for you guys ........

Most ppl started with digital crop and upon found the limitation and limitation of dynamic range, dof etc...FF will come into the picture.

Yes Medium/Large format is the next level....
