that's pretty hard to say. I went from a 550D > 550D + M > M only. The M is a good camera I can tell you. Awesome build quality, really compact size (around the size of a phone, just quick thick) and if you got the 22mm it's a very good lens for very little amount of money. But if you shoot fast moving things or do a lot of flash shooting, the M is not for you. The focusing is still quite slow by today's standard, not unusable , just you might miss quick moments. the liveview also sucks for flash shooting, you always get totally blacked out screen since there's no option to turn off exposure simulation. the M is more like a travel/ street camera that you would take your time slowly set up and frame shots instead of gun-and-run DSLR style shooting smile.gif

my 2cents.

i made some research myself and i would have thought so

If I were getting an EOS M now think i would just get the whole set for RM1390. EOS M Body, 18-55mm, 22mm, EF adapter, 90 EX flash.

And the future can complete it even more with ef-m 11-22mm, ef-m 55-200mm and either EF 40mmf2.8/50mm1.8 prime. Its not really lacking in lens choices anymore.

I think EOS M has the biggest price change since released in 2012.
Starting with body with 18-55 kit lens from rm2699 to body + 18-55mm + 22mm + 90EX + EF mount adapter for RM3649
Hope canon can put some effort in mirrorless market as everyone is going small biggrin.gif

Canon have difficult decisions given the market climate, competition and their existing lens ecosystem

not to mention the AF is actually not bad with the adapter using 50mm, quite fast even when compared to my 550D.

i can see a good potential in M, just small limitations crippling the camera. all they need to do is fix the autofocus (to cater most people's needing), add EVF or external EVF option, provide wifi or socket for remote release (without this the camera is pretty useless when it comes to long exposure), allow turning on/off exposure simulation (good for flash user) and maybe update the sensor. that's all i can ask for a perfect daily camera.

I can see that Canon is working on the AF issue. AF on EOS M2 is much better compared to EOS M.

Who knows it will be available in Malaysia in the future? It's selling ¥60,000 in Japan which equivalent to MYR1,800.

that's a lot cheaper than the m1 when first launched, which is good news. can't wait for the m3, doesn't look like canon is giving up the M, hopefully they at least provide EVF option.

Think I read somewhere EOS M is selling well in Japan and China markets. And that's where the EOS M2 is easily found. So they could just give up on the rest of the world and just keep their future EOS M stuff in these 2 markets.

Anyways I hope Canon can have a firmware update for 70D to have 1080p60 like how Sony just did for their RX10. I'm not really too keen on paying just for a 7D mkii to get 1080p60, which at that price range Sony A7s and GH4 can be considered already. I think Canon should release a 750D with 1080p60 ASAP to keep their video side competitive. With Sony A5100 having XAVS 1080p60 on the entry level, the 750D should not lose out.

Just my opinion, i am not sure how often Canon release firmware update for its camera
If they do release the 750D, maybe a minor tweak done to the 750D eg. the video quality aspect you wanted. This can be done with a firmware upgrade, but instead they release a newer model to do the 'upgrade'. Pushing customer for the newer model. Same sensor since 550D to 700D, hope Canon can come out a bigger spec difference compared to the previous gen even is a beginner model. Not just announcing a model for the sake of announcing. biggrin.gif

Seeing a new pancake by Canon the EF-S 24mm F2.8. Since its just for EF-S makes me wonder why not make like 22mm F2 like what the EF-M has?

Hey guys, would like your opinion

Is it wise to go from:

Tamron 17-50 2.8 VC
back to
7D Kit Lense 28-135

I plan to get a dedicated fixed focal.
I'm looking at 28/30mm 'cause 50mm is too close for my taste.

Ye can see in my Toy Whoreing thread of the shots I manage to get with the Tamron

Sekian, terima kasih
