QUOTE(leonghan @ Aug 3 2014, 02:21 AM) ART super over budget d I was using the one before the Art version. Worked very well on my 5D2 as well as my 5D3. Didn't even need to adjust the focus. Just get a good copy and you'll be happy QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 3 2014, 12:24 PM) I guess can remove my name from the owner list? How's the X-T1 treating you so far? Been contemplating getting a lighter system since nowadays I don't do much paid/serious work anymore. |

Even the SOOC shots are already good. I bought it with the 23mm f/1.4, love this prime and the bokeh. Go and buy one to complement with your FF. I lazy wanna keep so many cameras so decided to go for one only. For my Nikon V1, being the generous me I have given it away to my loved one. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 3 2014, 03:47 PM) Oh I love it. Yeah, I've only heard good things about the Fuji's and their lenses. Thinking of getting a X-E2 with the 23 1.4 as well Even the SOOC shots are already good. I bought it with the 23mm f/1.4, love this prime and the bokeh. Go and buy one to complement with your FF. I lazy wanna keep so many cameras so decided to go for one only. For my Nikon V1, being the generous me I have given it away to my loved one. Also, it might be time to sell some of my lenses that I don't use as often as before. Namely the 100L Macro |

QUOTE(cIvIc_noob @ Aug 1 2014, 12:20 PM) 1. Keep autofocus on, set focus point to middle. Will review the steps given. Looks like problem on no.1. Didnt know how to put focus on middle.2. Aim your middle focus point on animal through viewfinder 3. Half press shutter so it locks focus and don't let go, recompose. 4. Full press shutter Thank you. |

QUOTE(nicotine @ Aug 1 2014, 02:45 PM) Using Autofocus is like betting on lottery on those scenario. You may want to use Auto when you are shooting sports and etc with AI servo on. Will be looking back at the manual on how to set to manual focus and how to choose the focus point. First pic, auto focus hit the cage metal, not the subject pet. 2nd pic, auto focus might hit part of ya pet but still it's not a perfect one. You may want to review the pic on ya cam for which AF point it use on those pic and try to get some idea why it look soo funny/ no in focus. Anyway, learn to manually set the focus point, you have either 11 or 9 AF point... so explore and play with it. Get yourself familiar composing using different AF point on your viewfinder. As you progress, you might use wunna use center AF with focus /recompose technique. For me the later F and R works better as my 5d2 had extra 6 assist AF point surrounding the center AF. Just can't remember. Yes, working on focus/recompose technique at this moment. Not that simple with moving subject. |

QUOTE(nicotine @ Aug 1 2014, 08:58 PM) lol thank you, my album had been stagnant for quite sometime. hmmm I use mixture of 50 F1.8, 90F2.8, 135F2L, 24-105L, 70-200L. Sooo .. i had no idea, cant really recall unless I dig back the Exif lol. But mostly 135. Hi, you shoot portrait?I used to participate in 'photoshoot', but hasn't been doing it for a while, because: 1. the models (and organizers) charge too much 2. no breakthrough, as the photographers shoot independently rather than work together Perhaps you can organize photoshoot for photographers who are serious in improving their skills (not for mingling with the pretty models) |

QUOTE(river.sand @ Aug 4 2014, 03:28 PM) Hi, you shoot portrait? 1) I don't really shoot "leng mo" nowdays, I shoot mostly my dotter. Btw, I don't do those expensive indoor stuff which you had on ya flickr, I'll get into serious trouble with my HM later I used to participate in 'photoshoot', but hasn't been doing it for a while, because: 1. the models (and organizers) charge too much 2. no breakthrough, as the photographers shoot independently rather than work together Perhaps you can organize photoshoot for photographers who are serious in improving their skills (not for mingling with the pretty models) 2) You won't learn a thing from those outing, those outing were more like practical session to apply stuff which you already know. For learning best is to join workshop, you'll learn something handy from those workshop and of course it's all down to who's the speaker. Alternately you may find tutorials from the web such as editing and etc. 3) I don't have any talent contact, how to organize ? Also I don't mind learn a thing a two from you. |

QUOTE(th8 @ Jul 29 2014, 10:47 PM) Hi vankodoq, how do you find your new gear tamron 1750 2.8? I am currently torn between tamron and sigma (with OS) i.e price differences. Sure took me a long time to reply, eh? Sorry for that. Ohhh, another thing, heard that Lazada selling grey set lenses, is it true? I am contemplating of buying lens from there. Can anyone helps to clear my doubts? Thanks. I find my Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 non-VC to be awesome. For my amateur eyes, the lens produces sharp images wide open. I've tried Sigma and Tamron lenses with their respective image stabilization mechanisms (mostly my friend's lenses tho), and I can say that I'm not too fond of the mechanisms. Personally, I'd take the non-OS or non-VC version of Tamron or Sigma (as long as they have wide aperture). As for Sigma vs. Tamron? I'd still go for Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 just because it IS a bang for the buck. Also, a shot while I was in my friend's place, who likes Gundam. ![]() This post has been edited by vankodoq: Aug 5 2014, 11:01 AM |

I'm torn between the two as I have other things to get my hands on as well hence the question. Your feedback is very helpful...and nice Gundam I find my Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 non-VC to be awesome. VC versions will be helpful in low-light where you need to use longer shutter speed.
It's also helpful when you do handheld video. |

Canon native lens' IS mechanism? Now that's superb. But for me, the price kills it. It's also helpful when you do handheld video. |
