Hi, you shoot portrait?
I used to participate in 'photoshoot', but hasn't been doing it for a while, because:
1. the models (and organizers) charge too much
2. no breakthrough, as the photographers shoot independently rather than work together

Perhaps you can organize photoshoot for photographers who are serious in improving their skills (not for mingling with the pretty models) nod.gif

i won't say they're not good build.

those EF-S 17-55 and 15-85 are solid. Even L lens, not all of them are weather sealed.
*
Too bad 17-55 is not wide enough, and 15-85 does not have constant maximum aperture.
It would be great is Canon makes an EF-s 15-40 F2.8 tongue.gif

3.5mm TS cable.
Unless it has a PCSync port. Then use PC sync connector.
*
Thanks, but still confused...
The Yongnuo RF-603 comes with a cable, which, according to the manual, is 'PC sync cable/shutter connecting cable'. The cable can be connected to the 2.5mm shutter socket, but not the 3.5mm PC socket. So what I need to do is to use a 3.5mm converter?

See attachment...

I thought the cable is used to connect camera instead of flash light? I always use mine as remote shutter instead of PC sync.
*
Well, not sure. The manual says it is 'PC sync cable/shutter connecting cable', so I thought it doubles as both.

use lower ISO and narrower aperture.
*
If flash set to ETTL, lower ISO + smaller aperture also no use. Better set flash exposure compensation to negative value.
But my preferred method is to use higher ISO, so that the sensor can capture slightly more ambient light. As for aperture, it depends on whether I want blurred background.

are you hinting this is the problem?  hmm.gif

No lah... that one is for high speed sync. If you want to use shutter speed faster than X-sync speed (typically 1/200 or 1/250 sec) then you need this.
But I hardly use HSS, as it significantly shortens flash range.

Back to your concern - face whiter than ghost - try this:
Take 2 pictures, fix the aperture and set the flash to ETTL.
1st one - ISO 100, shutter speed 1/200 sec;
2nd one - ISO 200, shutter speed 1/80 sec.
See any difference smile.gif

I have to admit, playing wide angle lense is so much fun than portrait.

How do you compare wide angle to portrait hmm.gif
We can shoot portrait with wide angle too.

Sorry OT...
I am looking to buy a new PC. Is Intel Celeron processor good enough for Photoshop and Canon Digital Photo Professional?

In the end, I didn't use a filter for my solar eclipse project. Instead, I shot in Live View mode to avoid blinding my eyes.

Maybe the pictures were over-exposed, so I couldn't see the eclipsed part hmm.gif
