QUOTE(Newbieeeeee @ Sep 14 2014, 12:48 AM) Your ISO is abit high eh? For such a bright ambience probably 200 would be enough. Nothing wrong with using high ISO, but why not use something lower and get 1/250 instead of 1/4000? Ya.... after few shot here and there and i totally forgot about ISO and shutter speed..... Well, I am actually newbieeee and started playing with Manual mode, testing the Aperture and set iso auto 100 - 3200.Thanks and wait... give me time to learn ISO, Shutter speed, etc..... |

QUOTE(weretiger @ Sep 14 2014, 12:37 AM) E 50mm F1.8 OSS So very true unfortunately. I got banged from behind with this car before - slow multi car pileup. My bumper bangkok a bit (malas wanna claim, old car that time), THAR GOD CAR had nothing. Not even a single scratch. ƒ/1.8 50.0 mm 1/4000 ISO 1000 the tough and untouchable real god car... see this and you should drive your car away..... it bang you you lose... XD What did they make cars out of back then anyway? Depleted uranium? Anyways, managed to spend time testing my next target lens thanks to the friendly folks at YL Cam Proshop PJ: the Sammie (or Rokkie) 2/12. First things first. It's TINY. It's slightly smaller than my SEL35, if not for the huge 67mm front diameter. Build is quite... meh. Feels like a manual version of some plastic kitlens - which fortunately means its very light too. Focusing is also a bit tight, especially compared to the sublime focusing action on my Nikkor-SC. But... IQ and sharpness is not bad (even wide open) and the bokeh... I dare say it's one of the better ones I've seen on an UWAs. Plus it focuses quite close too, especially for an UWA. At F8... its tack tack sharp. With only a bit of vignetting. Mmmm. Here's a sample shot I managed to get: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The high contrast of the lens means that the bokeh in general is a bit on the lumpy side... this IS an UWA after all. The bokeh highlights are not bad though: Not a single "onion skin" to be found. Yet it'a very sharp right where I want it to be. Remember, this is wide open at f2 - which unfortunately means the lens slight CA problem becomes apparent as well. It's not as bad as the SEL35's wide open CA though. In conclusion: I really, really want one now. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Sep 14 2014, 02:31 AM |

QUOTE(mikeis18 @ Aug 21 2014, 03:10 PM) Just tested it out (the latest Dark Knight version) yesterday on my A6000 and here are some photos and comments for your references...The lens on camera without and with the hood on: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fsjpyrdyqd2kypl/105409134.jpg?dl=0 The comparison from f/0.95 ~ f/1.4 ~ f/2.8 https://www.dropbox.com/s/9rktj8zf8acpyz0/10540913.JPG?dl=0 Pros: - The build quality of lens is excellent, solid, cold metal and heavy - The box that made by leather do feel nice - The focus ring turn smoothly - The aperture ring a bit tied, but I personally feel tat is good, so to avoid accidentally changed the aperture - Bokeh similar to f/1.8 on A7 using FE-55F18Z (actually if base on the 1.5x crop factor, suppose to be f/1.4, but I never test f/1.4 lens on A7) - Do feel nice on hand while on the A6000, including both the size and the look Cons: - The plastic hood do feel "cheap" (just a little bit) - The weight might caused problem while doing MF (ur hand will have to support the lens more than the body) Conclusion: I still hesitating this with the FE-55F18Z!! I totally agreed to what Steve Huff said, the Zeiss is for perfection, and this Dark Knight is for creativity... I do wish I can have both!! hahahahaaa XD You can get the lens @ http://famecherry.com/shop-with-us-2/essen...ter-50mm-f0-95/ Note: I also a customer to this seller, so I do not get any benefit or commission if you order from them |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Sep 14 2014, 02:02 PM) Yep. The Samyang 12mm f2. Cheap MF UWA alternative to the SEL1018 and the Touit - and faster than both. after googling about this lens, saw the comparison with zeiss tout 12mm 2.8 lens, and im really regret i missed the zeiss tout lens kit combo last time tout 12mm 2.8 + 32mm 1.8 = RM 3000 +-,such a great deal, too bad few months ago i dont have the budget |

QUOTE(nixonyang @ Sep 14 2014, 05:48 PM) The 0.95 has swirly, motion sickness inducing bokeh that you may or may not like. Myself I prefer a better designed f1.4 lens any time or something like that crazy Fuji 56mm f1.2 APD which is *designed* for bokeh. Really, people should put more apodization into lenses... especially variable ones like on the STF.After all, bokeh is not *just* about a bigger aperture, though it helps. IMHO, some really fast lenses actually have *very* distracting bokeh with onion ring highlights all over the place - and people still think it's "wow bokeh" because it's just blurry due to the DOF. Anyone can recommend straps (preferrably a sling) for A6000? I like sling more because I'm not very comfy with it hanging on my neck.

Really, people should put more apodization into lenses... especially variable ones like on the STF. Totally agreed that bokeh or big aperture is not the only thing that for a good photo, but unfortunately SONY e-mount still lack of fast lens (and some is super over priced until we cannot affort as for an hobby) that some of us wanted to make creativity into our photograph works. After all, bokeh is not *just* about a bigger aperture, though it helps. IMHO, some really fast lenses actually have *very* distracting bokeh with onion ring highlights all over the place - and people still think it's "wow bokeh" because it's just blurry due to the DOF. To be fair to the lens, I think my photo is not good enough to show the characteristic of the lens, so I share some other links here https://www.flickr.com/photos/yannickpix/se...157644407875687 http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2014/08/04/t...n-the-sony-a7s/ Of course this is not a best fast lens, I just take it as an alternative option |
