everyday this question is being asked.

You should ask yourself or perhaps provide us how you use your phone, that would give us some insights on whether it is worthy of an upgrade.

that said, XiaoMi Mi3 is probably the most overhyped/best price/hot selling/able-to-deliver/worth-every-ringgit-spent/most talked phone of the year 2013/2014.

do you find any different between stock browser and chrome. i found that stock browser is pretty slow compare to chrome. how about your experience? do know any good benchmark tools for android browser?
*
let me post my own findings. Using two most popular benchmarking tool, Sunspider and Peacekeeper, below is the result:

Test environment:
Factory load of MI3 with OTA (MIUI-JXDMYBD14.0)
Latest Chrome browser from Playstore
Stock MIUI browser
Both data and cache cleared prior test

Sunspider Javascript benchmark
(lower is better)

MIUI Stock browser (V1.0) - 728.8ms
Chrome (v35.0.1916.138) - 754.1ms

Peacekeeper
(higher is better)

MIUI Stock browser (V1.0) - 1182
Chrome (v35.0.1916.138) - 986

RAM usage (5 tabs opened with Google.com.my page)
(lower is better)

MIUI Stock browser (V1.0) - 113Mb
Chrome (v35.0.1916.138) - 98Mb

The test concludes, MIUI stock browser is performing a slight better on both tools, but Chrome utilized a little less RAM than MIUI stock browser.
For some reason, Peacekeeper detect MIUI stock browser as Safari 4.0(are they using the same engine?)
Pls see below below screen capture.

AMOLED performs better in term of battery consumption, MI3 display does drain a lot of battery just to let you know.

If you want to save more battery, get app that could turn off & on data/wifi periodically. This way the data connection will not be up all the time.

Still testing, so far charge 1 full round left 3 block of battery, estimated can use 2-3 times more.
*

Nope. Amoled performs only better when viewing dark screen. When u view on white, it drains battery life hell.

At least there's a way for you to reduce the battery consumption by using black background. LCD black or white still eats up same quantity of battery.

the service centre quite difficult to locate as the amcorp trade centre divide into few blocks.

when i was there, saw few mi3 owner in and out to claim for warranty also. sweat.gif

p/s: to those who want to claim for warranty, please bring along the mi warranty card and transaction detail. withou them they not able to process.

thanks to @baowen giving guide how to test the touch screen. notworthy.gif

AMOLED is just with added a semiconductor film on OLED to make to activate the pixel faster. It still uses less battery compared to LCD.
