let me post my own findings. Using two most popular benchmarking tool, Sunspider and Peacekeeper, below is the result:

Test environment:
Factory load of MI3 with OTA (MIUI-JXDMYBD14.0)
Latest Chrome browser from Playstore
Stock MIUI browser
Both data and cache cleared prior test

Sunspider Javascript benchmark
(lower is better)

MIUI Stock browser (V1.0) - 728.8ms
Chrome (v35.0.1916.138) - 754.1ms

Peacekeeper
(higher is better)

MIUI Stock browser (V1.0) - 1182
Chrome (v35.0.1916.138) - 986

RAM usage (5 tabs opened with Google.com.my page)
(lower is better)

MIUI Stock browser (V1.0) - 113Mb
Chrome (v35.0.1916.138) - 98Mb

The test concludes, MIUI stock browser is performing a slight better on both tools, but Chrome utilized a little less RAM than MIUI stock browser.
For some reason, Peacekeeper detect MIUI stock browser as Safari 4.0(are they using the same engine?)
Pls see below below screen capture.

i've been using Chrome since it released and ditched stock. main reason is compatibility + performance + browsing history + favorites to sync with my PC
*
came from that crowd as well, but with Mi3 stock browser, i think they r equally good.

So many recommended this. Afraid will make the phone looks bigger?
*
i dont mind of getting bigger, as long it can help absorb the energy from drop. i got a small son love to play the phone and it's prone to get dropped, so it served the reason

Saw this on facebook.

JianHong Tan: for the high demand, next restock should be 50,000 sets.
Xiaomi Malaysia: Our delivery agents do not have the capacity for that amount.

Maybe this is the reason for the limited number of stocks each time.

i somehow agree with this..

i think those who complain about lagging, love to close program after they using it (using the RAM/App cleaner function)..Android is a smart system, the reason why system put the apps on the background is for fast access since it's been loaded to RAM..and the system is smart enough to release them from memory when more memory needed to run your current app.
