got question on my fixed phone line with streamyx..

currently using RM160 8Mbps (include fixed line rental with phone number)

when i subscribe to unifi, the TMNet staff told me i can remain my current  fixed line number without paying any monthly rental, on top of unifi i get one new phone number (so it is VIP5 RM149, remain current fixed line phone number, 5Mbps Unifi and one new phone number)

is that means -> after install unifi, my streamyx is terminate
my current phone line cable remain untouch (which connect to all existing house phone where people can call me through current phone number)
and for unifi new phone number, it is from BTU to dect phone
**for the above case, people calling two different number will reach different phone

OR

from BTU to dect phone, current phone number and new unifi phone number will go through same port?
**for the above case, people calling two different number will have all phones connect to the BTU ring

Thanks in advance.
*
U can still remain the current phone number with only pay RM1 and streamyx will be terminate.others still can call u thru the current number but if u use current number for outgoing call, normal rate will be apply.

Unifi number will be different from your current number. No current=no phone/internet/hypptv.

If others call u both number,u call received both call(apply if u stay terrace, bungalow)

If u stay apartment/flat/condo,u have to terminate your current phone number and streamyx in order to install unifi

means i pay RM149 for unifi + unifi number and current fixed line rental, not additional RM26 on top of RM149

I can understand that calling using current fixed line will pay normal rate call if streamyx no longer there.

I stay in terrace, thats TMNet staff on phone told me i can remain the line. I wish to remain it because the number is so long will have people call in and my house have fax machine, i understand that I will pay for call for current phone number when i terminate streamyx (which include free call for RM160 package)

My family members and I did not call out, most of it just answer call biggrin.gif I think i will remove the dect phone (unifi new number) from BTU after the contractor leave haha... because no point having new number just to get free local calls, since we are not using it...

Thanks.

just got unifi installation done in an hour smile.gif

from TM pole <-black fibre-> Fibre Wall Socket <-white fibre-> BTU <--homeplug1 first floor -- homeplug2 ground floor -> Asus Rt-AC56U
**the contractor said no need Fibre Termination Unit outside my house and no drill for the installation, the Fibre Wall Socket just use industrial double sided tape stick on wall (as attached)
**Hypptv connect to my own Asus RT-AC56U LAN4, streaming without problem when full speed downloading file from pc
** the BTU looks ugly than previous model black color one...

the speedtest is ok biggrin.gif

I just had my unifi installed in my condo. My residential gateway is a TRG212M router. Anyone know what router is this? Can't seem to find much information on it.

Therefore i'm thinking of changing it to ASUS RT-N14UHP. Does this router also supports HyppTV?

mind telling how to do it?

in your router config, in the section where you configure WAN settings where you choose PPPoE and enter your UniFi username/password, you should probably see an optional item asking you to enter DNS server (On some routers such as TP-Link, the option is in an "Advanced" page). Enter it there and all devices connected will use the Google DNS instead of the default DNS assigned by TM.

Ask the contractor if they haven't give you the password before they go off. Easier if they just let you take a photo of the job sheet with all the info there, that's what i did.
