If resize like half size or one size then OK. Resize sampai 4 sizes better not man. Cuz someone posted on this thread a few months ago about a terribly done resizing job by a local jeweller. Totally ruined his ring design and on top of that, his ring became like an egg shape.

yes bro...i also quite worry on this.
So i will give up the ring 2 & ring 3 alrd.
Hopefully Ring 1 fire brilliance excellent so blink till cant notice the size of the stone biggrin.gif

Dont know why D&P dont sale their "estrella stone" in loose and giving the flexibility for ring matching
Like being force to buy the diamond due to the ring only. ranting.gif

just dont get it, why the SA over there very confident keep on saying no worries abt resizing, ring its even can reduce to size 7 also no problem.
then i start wondering must b sifu inside very pro bruce.gif
heard they not using burn while they using latest laser. so no worry on the sizing matters.

But even so...i still worry...base on the egg shape in previous pages the apparent... doh.gif

36 degree crown angle is too steep. Also, do note that it has faint fluorescence, which should lower the price of this diamond when compared to similar one without fluorescence. How much is this diamond?

If they sell as loose diamond, one may be able to see the hearts and there might be a chance that the hearts are not as good to that person who view it, and this may make it harder to sell. Anyway, I still think if the H&A is that good, they should either photograph it or display it on the report. Hearts is the hardest thing to get correctly IMO, don’t be fool by the statement that perfect arrows equals perfect hearts, that is quite bullshit. I have heard that from some other brand.

Let's say you want Diamond A but prefer Ring B design, but Diamond A is currently set on Ring A. Can't they dismount the diamond and mount it on Ring B instead? If cannot then really strange cuz most shops did offer this option the last time I went and make enquiries.

Bro, let's look at it from the salesperson's perspective. In order to close the deal, they can anyhow tell you anything under the sun. It is up to you to analyse what they say and see if it makes sense. Reduce 7 sizes man! You think what, can just use scissors and trim ahh bro? Impossible this can be done without ruining the design of the ring. So always take the salesperson's words with a pinch of salt, unless you know him/her personally.

Are their Hearts & Arrows consistent? Or just showing a pattern of Hearts & Arrows? What is their definition of ideal cut?

Btw, can't see the photobucket that you uploaded. Perhaps you may want to attach straight away right here or share the GIA number.

Their definition of Ideal Cut is A bove of ideal cut. lol...
I cant rmb clearly but their table, depth, crown & pav angle all is within ideal % range. They got a board list out all other brand round diamond ideal cut % range. Forget to snap down....

Seriously? One day I must go and take a look as well! PM me the branch please.

As for ideal cut? I think it most likely fall out of range based on Enchanted Cut Score: https://enchanteddiamonds.com/cut-score-cal...cate=3265325605. I am not able to view the certificate because GIA seems to be down, but I suspect it is due to the steep crown angle. I will check later again.

Update:
Yup, it is due to the 36 degree crown angle. Usually there will be light leakage, but I have seen cases whereby the diamond performs good as well, based on IdealScope and ASET.

hi all, any idea how much is platinum price at jewellery stores now? i got quoted about RM 3100 for a 9.99g Platinum ring. Is it reasonable? just a simple design, with 2 channel on top.

Not too sure. Which store quoted you? If it is not brick-and-mortar stores, then the price may probably be okay IMO. Btw, is it plat 95? Also, is it for proposal ring or just wedding bands? If wedding bands, then check out Tailored Jewel, iDo Jewellery, ZCOVA, Eumayco Jewellery, Memory Jewellery on Facebook. If for proposal ring, then you can skip Tailored Jewel (as they only do setting for their own stones), and check out with the rest.

The crown is height is too short and crown angle is too shallow, killing its fire, while the pavilion height is too deep and the pavilion angle is too steep, killing its brilliance. This is a terrible diamond IMO. If you got a chance to see the actual diamond/image, then feel free to take a look and compare it with other diamonds.

Hmm, two channels? Paved with side diamonds? Or how ah? Can take a look at the design? Also, do you have the wedding band width?

RM 3100, seems pretty okay IMO.

I just compare with Tailored Jewel: https://www.tailoredjewel.com/product-categ...n/?currency=MYR. Look for the design you want. His 5mm costs around RM 3360.00.

Another one I found is this: https://www.whiteflash.com/wedding-rings/ha...id=myengringexp (affiliate link). 5mm width. This one is going for USD 635.35. Maybank2U forex rate is 4.2870. So, in RM will be RM 2723.75. Add 6% GST will be RM 2887.18. Free shipping. It is pretty cheap compared to the other wedding bands on the site.

I won’t buy it personally.

Filter by E VS1, I will most likely get this: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/r...id=myengringexp (affiliate link) Other than to complain the arrow at the 6 o’clock position is slightly longer, this piece is pretty decent. It is returning a lot of light and fire. Slightly smaller, but cheaper.

Hi guys. I am interested in buying a proposal ring right now. Need it by mid-December before I head to US. Therefore, all the inputs here by sifu will be very useful to me.

To start it off, before coming here, I have go around in MV-Gardens to survey for the diamond rings. Tomei, Goldheart, Love&co, Wah Chan, Poh Kong and Le Lumiere. From the 1st 2 shops, I still wasn't sure want I wanted in a diamond. Luckily, I met some good sales person who willing to explain to me all the 4C and also their products. At first, I set my minimum diamond as colour E, clarity VVS2, 3Ex cut and 0.4 carat; budget RM6k. But after going through the few initial shops, I realised that with that budget, I am unable to achieve that kind of diamond spec I wanted. Then I went on to do my own 'homework' by researching and reading about diamonds. I learned that with limited budget, you can't always get the best of all 4C. Also putting Cut > Carat > Colour > Clarity as my priority. I have friends that disagree that cut should not be the most important of all 4C. Some said carat, some said colour and clarity. After all the readings and surveying, I still believe Cut is the most important factor for a good diamond. I remembered someone mentioned that "Cut is King", and I totally agree with that. No matter how big or how clear your diamond is, if it don't sparkle or shine brilliantly, it is not a perfect diamond for me.

Now, after all the above, I have now set my new minimum for a diamond; Cut has to be perfect, around 0.4 carat (+/-), clarity SI1 and colour G with budget >RM7k (including the ring). I am not sure if I can be getting this with this kind of budget. So far, I know Le Lumiere has the closest but with lesser carat (GIA 5256615959) and color (GIA 7261392761). Both are RM6688 and RM6388 respectively. Love&co, the specs might be lower if not mistaken but compared with Le Lumiere I saw, the diamond performance are better than Love&co; sparkles more brightly. Another option is to go for diamond and ring separately (like in Wah Chan). I looked for JannPaul and Brian Gavin; I have to say their diamond looks amazing (thou by picture and videos only) and it fulfill my requirements of good cut (Hearts and Arrows).

Here begins my headache moments. Although my gf once told me to decide on the diamond ring, I am unsure if I should go for those ready made well-known diamond ring brand (like Love&co, Hemera, Le Lumiere and etc) or should I go for those customize diamond and ring (like Brian Gavin, Audrey, Wah Chan, JannPaul and etc). Ladies and guys thinking may be a bit different you see... guys are more to technical stuff than just looking at brand (specs, performance, etc) while ladies usually go for brand (Tiff&co, Love&co, etc).

Any opinion or suggestion based on the above? If I were to order those diamonds from Brian Gavin for example, you think it can fit my budget and enough time to do the setting as well? Thought of JannPaul too but I don't know if can fit my budget as well. Worry if I go SG then end up with failure. Hope all the sifu here can give me some guidance. notworthy.gif icon_question.gif

I won't comment on the diamonds cos there are plenty more sifus who is more knowledgable than me.

So I'll just assist on the girls point of view smile.gif

I would say don't go for brand. In April, I went to Tiffany & Co to get my bracelet cleaned so I just casually asked what the ring prices was. A 0.15ct cost RM7,000 and that is the lowest they have!! That alone has already hit your budget.

I would go with getting a diamond from Wah Chan and maybe get it set somewhere else. I got a ring from Wah Chan (both diamond and setting) and if you really look at the setting, it isn't the best of the best. I actually don't have any issues with it, but my bf keeps staring at it cos like you put it, more technical. If however, you plan to get a solitaire, then I guess that wouldn't make much of a difference smile.gif

Hope this helps!
