For GIA graded stones, due to their nature of rounding crown angles and pavilion angles, the actual crown angle can either be 35.3, 35.4, 35.5, 35.6, or 35.7, while for pavilion angles, the actual angle can either be 40.9 or 41. So input a few possible combinations into HCA and it still score above 2. If the pairing of this diamond is 35.3 crown and 40.9 pavilion, it scores 2.8, but inputing what I got from the cert, it scores 3.9. The pairing of steep crown angle and slighly steep pavilion angle seems to be the problem here. What price they offer you?

This stone scores a HCA score that is too high (low is better). You may want to take a look at the actual stone before deciding to purchase or not. If you buying blind or without any images, then I suggest you look elsewhere.

Based on proportions alone, this diamond is much better:

There seem to be some light obstruction at the 5 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions, meaning that its optical precision is not that good, but at this price, with this quality, I think it beats what other vendors can offer you. This diamond has a good pairing between crown angle and pavilion angle, whereby the crown angle is steep while the pavilion angle is on the shallow side. Therefore, it should be quite a decent stone.

It scores a 0.9 on HCA and 100% on Enchanted Cut Score for GIA-7263790400. The price is USD 1133 + USD 30 for handling fees. So total will be USD 1163. MoneyMatch current exchange rate is 4.2589, and the RM price is shown as 4953.15. Add 6% GST and some misc. fees, the price will be approximately RM 5300.00... Therefore, you get a stone with better proportions, higher colour grade, at a cheaper price. For ring setting, look for Memory Jewellery at Sentul. He can customize your ring settings at a reasonable price. Ask for slightly wider ring and extra rhodium plating for longer lasting ring. Try to request for palladium in the white gold settings, and see if he can cater for it, if not, he will most likely use nickel in his white gold, which is pretty standard anyway. Alternative will be iDo Jewellery at Bukit Jalil. Her rings are solid and contains palladium for its white gold. Workmanship is good as well.

On a side note, there is really no need to go til VVS1, VS1, IMO is sufficient. You can filter them out on Zoara as well. Filter diamonds with images, it will certainly help.

Try PetraGems as well. You can google it. I am not affiliated with them and I don't know whether they ship to Malaysia or not, but it seems pretty ok to me. Other than that, you can visit www.niceice.com and see the list of GIA triple excellent vendors at the bottom of the page. Some of them like BlueNile and JamesAllen do not ship to Malaysia. So you have to ask them.

I won't rate it a pure H&A diamond due to its light obstruction. High optical precision diamonds will not cause that. However, I would say it is a decent diamond that I will consider, factoring in the 4C requirements as well as the budget requirement. Not everyone needs a super ideal. I am more of a proportion-first person. Sometimes you can certainly see nice H&A diamonds with very very steep crown angles, but that may sacrifice the brightness of the diamond. That's I will filter out by proportions first, then only take a look at the available images.

If you want super ideal H&A with GIA cert, then I suggest you message JannPaul from Singapore, but I am pretty sure the price will be more expensive.

Of  course I will welcome you to do the setting with Zoara as well, my commission increases with it what. But then, I always prefer to play safe and decide to get it done locally, this is because it will be easier to resize. Secondly, sometimes the workmanship may be a bit off as well, making us hard to go for after-sales service. Of course, I will get whatever I like from online if I am so sure and confident that the ring will fit nicely and feel comfy, and the workmanship is there. Anyway, you can approach Memory Jewellery (just Facebook them) and let them know what you have in mind, they have all the expertise and tools to create a nice ring for you. If you girlfriend is sensitive to nickel, ask them to use palladium instead. Their price is also pretty reasonable.
