QUOTE(ady775 @ Jun 26 2014, 01:47 PM) Hi there, I recently got a job offer in a local compant as Equipment Engineer for Hydraulic Workover Unit. Their schedule is 4 weeks offshore and 2 weeks rest. Unfortunately I believe its offshore allowance is only RM80/day. Plus the work scope will be same as a mechanic( informed during interviews). I would like to know if its worth it to join this company as their basic is as same as my current company. Less than 4k. Please advise as I am having hard time to decide. Thank you. i know wch company from the type of rig u mentioned. pay wise maybe low but maybe resume wise could be helpful in the long run in securing those foreign drilling contractors.

QUOTE(wanfauzan @ Jun 25 2014, 02:42 PM) hi guys, first time here, just finished went through from first page. Will complete my contract this week with Sime Darby Engineering. Commissioning completed and platform already handed over to Indian client. Now, looking for new job. I know, with two years experience in O&G, it is hard to market yourself as experienced. Also difficult to market yourself as fresh graduate. Need lots of efforts and lucks to find new job in this industry. Also might need to deal with paycut. wish me luck guys. Wanfauzan, we're in the same boat. Just have 2 years exp, really difficult to market myself, my contract last on may, one month gone without a salary.

QUOTE(Bleauet @ Jun 26 2014, 11:38 AM) Hi there, ColorOcean/Solidgro/GeoPremium are same company. If i'd wanna rate mudcooler service company (in term of wellfare/work condition/working environment) i'd say 1-Scomi 2-Antamahir 3-GeoPremium For career progression, not much to say, hard to jump to other ship. Maybe you can jump to shale shaker/ solid control but to become mud engineer i think is a bit hard. Inner working environment for geopremium i'd say, a bit racist (heard that they always prioritize sending chinese offshore), you gonna be actually half engineer half technician. But the pay is good coz many of the project is actually oversea. So rig bonus is in USD And lastly, no i'm not in any of those company and im not working as a mud cooler engineer. Mind sharing how much is the pay?
