hi guys,
first time here, just finished went through from first page.
Will complete my contract this week with Sime Darby Engineering. Commissioning completed and platform already handed over to Indian client.
Now, looking for new job. I know, with two years experience in O&G, it is hard to market yourself as experienced. Also difficult to market yourself as fresh graduate.
Need lots of efforts and lucks to find new job in this industry. Also might need to deal with paycut.
wish me luck guys.

QUOTE(ady775 @ Jun 26 2014, 05:31 PM) Thank you. I am currently in Mechanical Seal company. Office base. Offshore allowance here is 300/day compared to my offer which is too low. Still thinking hard on this... Furthermore how does it feels to be in offshore for straingt 4 weeks? spend three months in indian offshore. it could be worst

QUOTE(noruazumi @ Jul 4 2014, 09:33 PM) That was old story. The blacklist flipped overnight. Initial blacklist due to LEKAS project. As mentioned, it was revoked. PRW and RWP are same entity?

QUOTE(Stamp @ Jul 19 2014, 11:09 PM) PBJV? Hopefully you are good and they take you in so that you can help them raise their stature as an effective brownfield contractor. We are getting nervous with their current performance. Thanks, will keep that in mind. So, at the moment, which is the best contractor? I am thinking of going to Sapura Kencana, but no invitation so far from them.

QUOTE(xmastermind7 @ Jul 21 2014, 03:51 AM) just a quick really2 noob question. Can anyone apply for Bosiet? what is the requirement? Besides from engineering field or related to oil and gas, those with different qualification can apply for offshore related courses i.e. Bosiet, huet etc? I'm thinking of shifting off from current field For bosiet, you need to register and pay only. Anyone can do. But mind you, it is not cheap.

QUOTE(noruazumi @ Jul 21 2014, 02:31 PM) Prior to BOSIET, you must pass Medical Check-up for Offshore. Anyway, having a BOSIET will not give you any significant advantage. It may in some urgent cases. Now tapis r (mmhe commissiomning) is looking for instrument commissioning tech urgently to go to offshore on 26th July. One must have bosiet due to short notice

QUOTE(K24 @ Nov 12 2014, 05:08 PM) Hi I'm new here. I'm an aircraft maintenance engineer, wondering is there any suitable field or section in OnG industry for ppl like me. In which section can I use and practice my skills and knowledge? first of all, why do you want to change your career path. Was in the aviation industry for one year, I know hat aircraft maintenance engineer can earn handsome amount of money, with relaxed 4 days on, 4 days off. Better to stay in the industry especially if you are a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME). If you are aiming for money, you can go to middle east. Good money there also.

QUOTE(Dagger69 @ Jan 2 2015, 04:36 PM) Nothing weird. We all need some cheap labours. Agreed. Joined a dissolved company as fresh graduate on contract basis with average pay. But good experience though.
