again, last time my friend telling me he keep on searching for almost 1 year till he join McDermott (as he don't want to join other industries). That is 7 years ago story. He still with them till now. Me got into this industry after almost 4 years in other heavy industry. But don't limit yourself especially during lurking for a job.

a little bit of my job hunting history.. i ve graduated since end of 2012. nine month after that, i got a job which is definitely nothing to do with oil and gas.

after a month i got another offer which is from sub sub con of oil and gas company. without split second of thinking, i just accept the offer. they promise me bulan dan bintang which is why i didnt have split second to think. nothing goes right for me, the company just 'kencing' about the salary increment after 1 month probation. and they also wanna send me far far away (in malaysia) and make another promise. but sy da x makan lg janji2 palsu mereka and i make a decision to quit.

im not memilih at all.. but until now im still jobless sad.gif

well, i'm not saying you r not lucky, but for me, if we did perform well in work n love it, regardless the increment etc. InsyaAllah there will be definitely always a better chance out there. Same goes to me, I did not expect to join this industry after working at my previous place, but as the opportunity come from client, I just give it a try. I've been even worst from u for during initial 4 years working (not OnG) but experience is priceless. Always be positive.

Compared to OTC few month back, Subsea exhibition is kinda small scale. But not bad lah. I attend just for the sake of gathering current market data for my new project next year.

I think the most biggest & happening exhibition I ever attend is World Gas Expo. Simply the best!

hello! laugh.gif

Sorry for this long long question ya, but i know this is the only place that has professionals that knows the engineering market flex.gif
I am an engineering student who is sponsored by a company to study in an university. i would say that my academic results is above average and i involved in a lot of events and clubs activities.

So recently I was bothered by my future. FYI, I have undergone a practical training with the company that sponsor me (a quite reputable palm oil plantation-based company) during my sem break and for the coming internship, I am sure that i will be called to undergo my internship there.

However, as a student from this university who has great connection with OnG companies, I also stand a high chances of entering OnG companies, and I know that OnG has far higher pay and more benefit to employees.

I am hesitating right now. the main factor that I am seeking at now are High pay/Attractive bonuses, Career development (climb up the ladder) and networking. But I am also interested to know if staying in palm oil factory for years is a good investment for a high pay job in palm oil field.

Sifu, help help sad.gif

It is really depending on what you want. I have the same experience with you before. End up I left the company by breaking the bond because I want to do something I love to. Job satisfaction should come first. =)
