i really like the s3is and i have about one more week to decide before i make my purchase. one thing that i dont like about the s3is is the 2inch sreen. and not to mention the EPV which is relatively bad.

i dint really use the lcd when i tested it, so i want to know from u guys if the screen gave any problems ?
like visibility in bright light....etc

should i get it over the fz8....cause my brain is hurting by trying to decide
man....
GOD!
i know the panny have some issues with higher ISO shots. the noise is rather unbearable at ISO 400
i dont know about the s3is as i have not used it (besides fondling it in a shop)
how is low light shooting and picture quality at higher ISO shots?

There are so many happy S3 users here including myself. So many people saying the same thing... we can't be wrong, can we?
If you still can't make up your mind, there are bunch of reviews out there for your reference, if still you can't decide, throw a dime then tongue.gif

I was in the same situation as u about 4-5 months ago.. I was contemplating between fz-7 and s3is like i said my times before.. I actually picked the fz-7 (bcoz of its looks and size since the features and reviews for both are pretty good.. silly huh?) Thank god they didn't have stock and I went for the S3is.. Trust me.. Get the s3 with no regrets.. Unless you wanna compare to a dSLR, then I have nothing better to say... Moreover the price of the S3is is quite reasonable now.. What are you waiting for?? thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

s3is or fz8
now i have added h7/d9 sony to the equation
h9 has 15x zoom, nightshot where u can take pictures in total darkness, and a tilting 3inch screen.
h7 has the same specs but no nightshot and fixed 2.5 inch lcd
both come with remote control
*
seriously, if sony really in ur list, pls go for it wink.gif the result will change afterward

my mind :
1,sony, canons3 , pana fz7/8
2,sony, panafz30/50 , s3

* even s3 better than fz7/8, but there are many selling 2nd hand s3 in garage sales there tongue.gif dunno y huh so fast jump ha laugh.gif no offece ah tongue.gif

thanks tongyam
i really wanted the h7/h9. i tested it during the sony fair in one Utama..
the 3inch screen is really killer plus it has 15x zoom. come with remote control.
but based on the user comments, it really has some problem with the noise reduction. some parts of the pictures are smeared and has the a watercolour look to it... such a disappointment since h5 was great albeit expensive

haih...maybe its due to the stupid freaking pixel wars. the more is always better..pushing the camera to 8mp is a bad thing for me

however, since both panny and canon cameras are 6-7 mp relatively better image quality compared to the new h9/h7 sony. what a waste since they are priced competitively (1699 and 1899)

When it came to getting a prosumer, I didn't even look at the FZ-7. I felt all the reviews made it inferior and the only standout from Pana which I would match with the S3IS was the FZ-30 then. In the end, still got the S3IS instead. The STEREO recording was the main puller for me as well as a SWIVEL LCD. It was usefull when taking shots close to the ground without me having to lie on the floor. tongue.gif
