Even if you bought it second handed, warranty will still apply if the camera is still within warranty period. Canon can disassemble the camera lens and remove the dust but if the dust does not affect your photos, leave it. Even for DSLR, all of them have some dust.

Boss, the warranty finished already..basically the dust not affect my photo, just affect my eyes whe cleaning the lens tongue.gif

Ok la just leave it there whistling.gif

Hi Syd04, you can go for a used unit of S3 or S3 which should be priced less than RM1k. Many are upgrading to SLR and I'm sure you will be able to get a great bargain.
If you insist on a new unit, RM1200 is a great price for S3IS. RM1600 is rather high for S5IS.

Bro, you can get second S3 around Rm800 in LYN.
For a new S5, the cheapest i found at KL plaza, RM1350.

Hi guys,
tks for the replies. i have reservation abt buying seconds because i don't know how to check the camera.
are there a lot of difference in picture quality between the S3 and the S5? i've read quite a few reviews but inconclusive. i don't mind less "canggih" tech or megapixels count. Picture quality is what's important to me.
of course, the S5 can use external flash is a plus but how important is that feature?
maybe, S6 is coming soon?
tks again.

Anyone know how to lock exposure for very far objects. Example you are taking a picture of a building in the day where the building is slightly darker due to the shadow and the brightness of the surrounding area. I watched clicked saying if want to take pics, lock the exposure for the distant object than zoom back.

my s3is lens got stucked
sent to canon and they quoted rm438
they said they have to change the optical unit

I think it is not worth it to repair
Might use that rm438 to upgrade to dslr

After googling around the internet,
it seems a lot of people are having this e18 lens error

After all, it happen so sudden
I did not drop my camera and take good care of it ever since

I think that it is not necessary to change the whole optical unit
they might be some mechanical error or so

I am in the same boat. I am downgrading. Thinking of selling mine. Most of the time I take with my SE C510 rather than my Canon.

Camera package includes:
Ori canon case with strap + battery holder
Canon S3 IS (like new)
16mb card (never used, came with camera) + 2gb sd card
box, manual, cables like new, USB I think like new. Not sure if I mistaken used the usb or my other peripheral USB.
Resit from shop.

Any offers? Pics have to wait I go back home in 1 months time. The camera is unused picking dust.
