u all keep talking about the slave flash cannot be mount on the S3 IS right~
is flash together when the S3 Flash right ?

guys, help me out here. If i would get a 2nd hand s3is, how to test it out to make sure there is no damage or any fault?

haikss... slave? have to diy bracket la, in that case?

Just a short review on this cam:

I got this camera last Sunday and I haven't got a chance to test it out in the field, except taking a few shots on my A80 for the purpose of posting it on a forum for sale.

First few shots experience:
As like my previous A80, I shoot in "C", which is actually "P" with my personal customized options. I found that the macro shots with flash resulted over exposed photos. I seldom have such problem with A80. It seems that the S3is flash is much powerful than A80, which is a good thing actually
Of course I know this can be adjusted either via EV or manual flash firing power setting.

Holding the camera:
This camera looks bigger than those A series Powershot, but it feels small when I'm holding it. I have a pair of palm that sweats, and I don't feel secure by holding my S3 with one hand. And I'm still looking for the sweet point for my left hand to place on the S3. Other than placing my thumb and index finger under the lens, I don' tknow where else can I place my left hand on.

Function Buttons:
Many buttons on the camera makes setting faster but not easier, in the sense that I have to look at the button to make sure that I'm pressing the right button. In other words, buttons are located quite close together. This also explains that macro button is located at the front, next to the lens, rather than have it located on the navigation button, like those Ixus and Powershot A series.

Conclusion:
Many getting-use-to is required for me since this is a shift from A series, from holding the camera to pressing the correct button. But I know I'm gonna like this camera. Optical image stabilizer, 12x zoom with a max apertures of F3.5 (you can't buy a lens with similar zoom range and aperture with the same amount of money paid on this camera), and most important, an articulated LCD, a feature I can't live without.

Updates: I have tried some shots during my Son's sport day last Sunday. It's cloudy and I've tried out 12x zoom with 1/60 shutter speed. I'm pretty impressed with the image stabilizer. However, I found that the edge of the subject has a purple shading. I'm not surprise though since this has been mentioned in review.

I'm still happy with my S3is!

One thing I am not happy with this S3IS is the taking photos sound will be also recorded together with the video clip while video-ing. Have been using near 4 months, a very good buy camera!

By the way.. Guyz.. I was in sg wang today.. I scouted around for the lens adapter hood LAH DC20.. Some places were charging me RM150, some was RM120.. The weird thing is.. There is 2 BOING Photos shop in sg wang.. One was like in the middle of nowhere, kinda big and congested and the other is a proper shop in the concourse area near the phone stalls.. What's even weirder is, the BOING right in the middle of nowhere is said they do not carry such item, and the other BOING (the shop) is offering me RM99 for the LAH DC20, but they do not have ready stock.. I'm kinda confuse..

Or is there any suggestion where can I get the LAH DC 20 at a reasonable price? and also, can I use any other 58mm dslr lenses on the lens adapter? i doubt so right? please clarify for me.. I'm really noob at this.

I dont think S3IS still need another Tele-converter. since it's already 12x zoom.
Wht type of UV and Polarizer filter will u use??
