QUOTE(itanium @ May 21 2007, 09:56 AM) My S3 where got hotshoe i know i already spend clost to 1.8k already ,yes u can say get a d40 instead is way better since its a dslr, but dont forget,ur buyin an dslr, then it will further ur needs let say u need the external flash,of coz few basic lens which is usefull 50mm f1.8. but think and see total up with the cost + a good quality bag, a tripod, etc theres no come to the end. u can spend as much as u want on DSLR depends on ur budget. If ur working then its fine. how bout those students still studying. they got other expenses to spend For those who are goin to spend rm2.2k onwards you should seriously consider Canon 350D or Nikon D40 instead. QUOTE(coolzero @ May 21 2007, 11:00 AM) Spending 2.2k on S3is is going to be the max (what else can you upgarde?) BUT for DSLR even the cheapest Nikon D40 kit set already cost you 2k above, you need flash and more lens plus filter in future which could esily goes above 3k or 4k. yes after u get the teleconverter u get 18x max zoom which pwns the OLY 550UZ FLAT Added on May 21, 2007, 11:13 am |

My add ons are 2 filters 1 CPL Polariser + 1 UV. Then of couse to attach them you need the LAH-DC20 adapter. Besides that are 3 lenses. 1 0.5X Wide angle, 1 Macro lense like the Canon 500D a 2.0X telephoto. Smaller add ons would be an extra set of 4x2700Mah rechargables, and extra 1GB card .....
Unfortunatly haven't tried RAW. Hows the performance besides the photos posted here a few pages back? |

Only tested RAW once and was kinda impressive. But test using slow SD card. Later test on faster speed memory card. Don't have time to test run and really explore the pics yet.

I know this has been asked before, but would appreciate if any one could advice me the best deal for LAH-DC20 adapter.
I think I'd feel more comfortable having a filter in front of the S3 lens which will provide some sort of protection against scratches. If the filter is scratched, it's easier and cheaper to get it replaced. |

You still can't find the LAH-DC20 set around? Its roughly RM100-110 I think now. Get a UV filter to attach to it and protect the lens of the S3IS.

I scouted the whole of Sg Wang, 1Utama, LowYat Plaza, almost every camera shop I can find... So far only one of them have them in stock.. And the price wasn't reasonable.. It was RM150.. I'm still scouting though.. |

The CANON Lifestyle store. There is one in Midvalley, KLCC and a CANON BRAND STORE at THE CURVE.
The expensive ones are the only ones left as all the cheaper shops have sold them out. Initially when I went to look, even the LIFESTYLE Stores were sold out..... |

Julchin_09 is right.. They're all out of stock.. Even the canon stores itself.. The one at Curve do not have stock too..
I'm a real noob about raw.. I've flashed my s3 thinking that raw will be awesome.. but i found out it's really weird.. U can't focus, and it snaps 3 pictures in total at one go.. Is there somethign wrong with my settings? Or issit really like that? I think it's my settings.. Was fiddling around with my settings and few seconds ago the batteries died on me.. |

I visited the place last year.... haha... Probably re-stocked and sold out again.....But the news of the S5IS using the same accessories is good news..... I'm a real noob about raw.. As for RAW, I think when the NEW Menu pops up, there could be a change in your default settings..... Try check that and see...... |
