weird thg is frm ET5 the system temp shows 42ºc...(ppl says is NB temp im not sure)
when i strip off side panel the system temp shows 47ºc!!!!!  rclxub.gif but my cpu temp drop!  rclxub.gif suppose wif side panel off we get lower temp rite?  doh.gif

well thats normal if u have good airflow inside ur case. when u close ur side panel, the air flow is perfect, or better than when u open ur side panel.. bcoz with side panel off, u'll mess with the airflow coming in and out to ur hardware.

I assume you are in an air-con room, Intel TAT read the temp from the processor's core while I guess the mobo reads from its sensor near the processor which is outside of the IHS, this account for the temp difference.

Another possibility is that something's wrong with ET5 reading.

Well for non watercooler and w/o 3rd party cooler user like me i will try to adjust the vCore to lowest as possible.. for 2.8Ghz 24/7 my vCore is running 1.275v. Tried 1.25v and 1.20v b4 but double prime failed. I found tht with every 0.025v lower, the temp will decrease 1-2C at idle, and 3-4C lower at load (monitor with TAT).

Even with LN2, giving vCore >1.6V will kill your processor sooner or later, or maybe instantly.

In other words, even with the best cooling solution in the world, giving too much vcore will shorten your processor's lifespan or even killing it instantly.

Can go 3.01GHz so far.. but for 24/7 i running 2.8GHz and vCore 1.275 for low temp.. coz not using 3rd pt. cooling. Only running single HSF for now.

Well i tried 420x7 earlier this morning, after a while system won't boot doh.gif . When i set the vdimm to +0.3v, it won't boot at all. The 420x7 was done everything at stock, with only vdimm +0.2v. Lazy to try higher again lar, satisfied with 2.8ghz laugh.gif . Anyway my system temperature is damn high, always around 45c, took out that thing applied AS5 already + put a small fan on top, still high temperature sweat.gif .

Wanted to try higher but my ram won't take +0.3vdimm, everytime i apply +0.3vdimm sure won't boot laugh.gif . Currently @ F6 bios, see when i feel like OCing higher i will update to F7 bios. My cpu temperature @ET5 always lower than my system temperature lol, kinda pathetic i would say shocking.gif
