QUOTE(irenic @ Aug 4 2006, 02:33 AM) i bet both will have same limit. so go for 6600 so u can spend ur money somewhere else.. well...lets say money is not an issue for this will will u go for????ppl are using quite low fsb on E6700 compare to E6600 as they used the multiplier to boost up the clock...but the one i m buying is not ES version so the multiplier is locked at x10....

yeah i read about the limitation of the mobo as well.... but i will be getting the processor 1st..... mobo i dun think i wll be goin for 975 or 965 chip...i will be waiting for RD600 or 590sli and can i know waht is C2D...i keep seeing this word i saw a thread in XS it says that retail E6700 is multiplier unlocked as well...is that true??? here is the link http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showth...highlight=E6700This post has been edited by sup3rfly: Aug 4 2006, 10:28 AM

QUOTE(c9 @ Aug 4 2006, 10:30 AM) C2D is a short-form of Core 2 Duo, mate. woops..... sorry for my noobiness....i tot its some stepping QUOTE(gengstapo @ Aug 4 2006, 10:33 AM) anyway, i still believe(based on athlon64 3200+, opty170 & opty146) processor wif multi of 10x is the best overclock x10 multiplier is easier to calculate clock speed now i just wanan know if its unlocked downwards on retail ones or wat .... and i will be goin for air cooling...

QUOTE(irenic @ Aug 4 2006, 11:44 AM) for me, if money not an issue, i will alwiz go to the highest speed i can buy IF the oc limit is the same. U can try do review based on retail E6700 and E6600 first. It's because i wont run oc speed for daily use. So the higher the default clockspeed is better for me. but if u're going to run ur setup @ oc speed 24/7, then go for E6600. Even if money not an issue, it's still a money rite? u wont just throw it away (better give it to me ) ahaks j/k. 9x multiplier and 10x multiplier different, ah well i'm sure the 400 fsb limit is more than enuff.. 400x9= 3600ghz.. well.... i will run oc speed 24/7 but not the max one la...find the max oc speed bench then lower down everything liaoz.... still oc but not the max lo... well 400x9 = 3600 but 400x10 = 4000 wo~~~ if can get that speed who dun want? i dunno still considering... >.< from all the E6700 ES chip i see all of them are hitting like 350 FSB only whereby the E6600 most of them could do 400....this is wat worried me.... is that true that E6700 cant hit 400 fsb?

QUOTE(tAmp0i @ Aug 4 2006, 12:01 PM) Bro, get the E6600 No need to splash out extra money on the x10 multiplier While the E6600 can get higher FSB, so both the Bus speed and memory can go higher... well.... i will be getting fatbody from team...so memory speed is not a concern as well...my concern is which can clock higher

QUOTE(Hyde`fK @ Sep 18 2006, 05:28 PM) It's better you get a 975X based motherboard like Asus P5WDH Deluxe rather than 965 for X6800. well if i m not mistaken P5B DLX or even vanilla P5B OC better than P5WDH and P5B DLX doenst even need to mod whereby P5WDH u need it..... and the fact we wanna get DS3 or vanilla P5B is because we are waiting for the BLOODY RD600!!!!! thats why we are looking for a temp mobo for the 2 babies....i warn u guys dun call them monsters anymore...they are babies!!! sweet, cute and sexy well guys...plz give more suggestion on the temp mobo for the both of us...after we bought this 2 babies we are kinda broke liao >.< now we are looking at Asus P5B and Gigabyte DS3...any other good mobo that is good and dun need to do vmod one???? coz P5B only offers 2.1v vdimm...thats dam bad >.< This post has been edited by sup3rfly: Sep 19 2006, 09:56 AM

QUOTE(Hyde`fK @ Sep 19 2006, 02:19 PM) Compared to RD600, I will get 590 SLI instead, and of the memory bandwidth compared that to Intel chipset. Well, who knows RD600 might outperform 590SLI in the future. I think its still better to go with 975 based together with E6700. But depends on you lar, better price per performance is always what we aimed for. P5B DLX ROX! 550mhz 5-5-5-15 http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=116343Look at Rol-Co's post somewhere in the mid. Unmodde P5B DLX, doing 570mhz 5-5-5-12. current SLI 590 is not good ler.... need to wait for the new revision...i like RD600 because of the Independent overclocking feature so i ratehr wait and get a lower price mobo 1st ...i dunno still considering
