QUOTE(soulfly @ Aug 16 2006, 12:52 AM)
my fren with DS3 got some problem

1. Cannot boot without CD in the CD-ROM drive. Will freeze at post screen. Will boot like normal only when there is a CD (any CD) inside the drive.
2. Cannot overclock from BIOS. Setting will reboot to default speed. Overclocking is only possible through software in Windows. The only thing can change in BIOS is just the RAM divider and timing. Any changes to the FSB (not even 1MHz) is possible through BIOS.

DS3 has been flashed to D4.
*
Try not to boot using any IDE devices but only the SATA HDD itself.

Initially mine have problem to boot when I plugged in my PATA HDD, everything goes fine without it. Later I got myself a IDE controller and attached my PATA HDD to it, now my problem is solved.

guys ddr II 553  512mb can be used ornot on e6300?
*
depends on your motherboard actually, most 965 mb do support it but it'll hold back quite a lot of performance

the bundled Easytune software can do overclocking pretty well, but for some advanced settings such as latency, you'll need to access the bios

I will try to prime it later, because too urgent to test. I think I can let it prime stable at 3.4Ghz, Why I know? because my friend use it at 3.4Ghz to do converting video files one night non-stop & no problem. But I still wanna to test it, wait for my news. I know you work at BB.

you're really lucky man, still haven't hit the wall yet notworthy.gif

great success never comes easy smile.gif cheero!

Disabling EIST will give you stable speed but comes with the expense of higher comsumption of electricity.

What is the best price for this?

Can compare C2D E6300 with AM2?
*
Core 2 Duo obviously outperforms AM2 in terms of performance per watt

edit: E6300 should be priced around RM 700 for now
