i think so la coz lastime when im running at higher speed but never do prime test, my soundcard or sometimes NIC having problem, cant run smooth..

My 2.8GHz idle= 60C and 65C load. from TAT. No aircond, open case and default (normal) vCore.

Wao.. 440 thts nice ler ; me only can reach 405.. i din't adding vCore. (or MCH, vDimm)
--> tried the F6 bios for 965PS3? maybe it helps. u din add vcore does it mean tat u put the setting to normal? pls don do so because it would automatically adjusted to higher voltage. (really high)

i heavent increase vDimm b4.. i dunno the limit of vCore/vDimm/MCH for E6300.

--> -.-" although close casing but i had change my cooling ler. if same with yours then i'll be the one dissapointing. the idling temp drop to 50~51 now because i drop the vcore to 1.3.

Im using PS-3 mobo, can i show u the OC Bios.. maybe its different from your DS-3 maybe.

i'll not advise u regarding voltage limit of your hardware because later it burst u'll kill me. S3 and DS3 is somehow the same and i ever read a review saying tat S3 can do better than DS3 in OCing.

Why do I need to double up the cash? Same price as the X6800 , maybe a couple of hundred more. Core in a single processor?

Its stability issue. I experienced some lagging when I went past 4.51GHz yesterday, I don't know what is wrong though. And yes...when I open CPUz also.

i try runing E6300 @ stock wic is 1.86 wif evrythg default values...n the song lag oso when i open cpu-z when loading
this means stock setting oso not stable?

Thanks ddww .. i think my prob almost solved now..
last nite i flash Bios to F6 vers.
Previously i was using F5.. when oc to 2.8GHz idle is 60C.. oc to 2.1GHz idle also 60C .. so disssapointed with the hi temp.

But after flash to F6.. things change. Supprised me..
oc to 2.7Ghz idle temp 53-54C only.. but the prob is cant reach 2.8GHz.
So i tried +0.1 vDimm. And i found tht +0.1 vDimm can help me reach 29.4GHz(420x7). But still +0.1 vDimm cant go beyond 430x7.. so finnaly i increase to +0.2 vDimm.. Now reach 3.01GHz. Idle 55C.. While doing prime; temp is 65C.
(all temp measured under close case, non aircond, stock cooling.)

#Dont dare to increase vDimm anymore.. now maximum is +0.2 vDimm. Can go further to +0.3v??
#Should i set vCore, vDimm, vMcH and vFSB manually?? So far i only leave it Auto(Normal)

vCore= 1.325v, vDimm = 1.8v, vMCH = 1.3v rite??

vFsb = 1.2v,vMch im not sure,either 1.3v or 1.5v,best if u can use DMM to measure

Mine doesn't lag at 2.8GHz, guess it's a purely stability issue.

guess tat means my E6300 is crap!

It may due to other factors such as RAM, troubleshoot the problem 1st before blaming your innocent C2D

Well, you can try a fresh copy of windows and see if the problem still exists or not
