refer to your mainboard's memory compatibility list to ensure a problem-free boot. Geil ram isn't mentioned over there, so I'd go with the xms2.

QUOTE(Hyde`fK @ Oct 23 2006, 01:27 PM) not really liaw... by browsing through foreign forum, i see most of the Asus board doing more than 500FSB while i can barely see the DS3 up on the list. the best DS3 i saw before is JianYi's which did a 515MHz (Proud of him). i think the best price/performance is the biostar. |

QUOTE(gmail @ Oct 23 2006, 01:43 AM) hi guys, You don't have to use the Infinity to use Crossfire. I think all of the 975X chipsets supports Crossfire. And I would go for Corsair than GEIL. Geil DDRIIs are iffy while Corsair's worst chips are always above par in performance. Safest to go with Corsair if you don't know what to get.i'm building a c2d rig soon. here is the spec in my mind C2D E6400 DFI Infinity 975X (choose this board coz going 2 crossfire) Ram not sure yet, which 1 is better 4 this board in terms of stability & oc?? 2 x 512mb Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 (5-5-5-12) - Link or 2 x 512mb Geil DDR2 800 Ultra (4-4-4-12) - Link 2 x 256mb Powercolor X1950 Pro (Crossfire) CM 600W i-Green power psu CM C5 Casing pls help me decide which ram 2 get? coz both of the price not diff much around SGD$ 10 only. |

Even 965 boards also support crossfire now, you can save up some money and get better graphics cards. |

Actually i don't see the point of spending the money to get 2x ATI 1950pro, i rather get a x1950xtx or 7950gx2, much better than getting 2 mid end card and "crossfire" it

Actually it is not really worth it even to buy an X1950 of any kind now. Nvidia will be releasing the G80 like next month with DX10 and that will flatten the X1950 like a pancake. Moreover....the price for the X1950s aren't cheap, and the performance difference between the X1900 and X1950 is so small, would rather get the X1900 as a temp card if you really need one.
My dua sens......ehehhehe |
