hi people, i am quite new to OC, but i am interested in knowing it biggrin.gif

i am getting e6300 processor and now i am looking for a mobo which suits it.

i read the star newspaper says that the MSI P965 Neo mobo is good and priced around rm450. anyone is using this board? i heard many are usiing DS3 and asus P5W DH

btw, i read from other forum says that e6300 can easily clock to 510mhz X 7 multiplier.

i probably will just use normal PSU and without any special cooling (no money to do so =.=)

i'll be getting a 2g 667 mhz dual channel RAM

and 7300 or 7600 graphic card.

i have read some of you all saying 4-4-4-10 or something with 4 digits like this, mind sharing what are the 4 digits for?

besides that, how should i probably aim for my PSU watt? around 400W or 500W ++ if i wanna do OC with it.

thanks very much for your info biggrin.gif

e6300 clocked to 510Mhz x7 actually depend on luck but mine can clock to 420mhz x7 = 2.9Ghz

dual channel DDRII 667 is gud enuff but if u can get the DDRII 800 RAMs, go for it

the 4 digit was refering into RAMs timing

my advice, get atleast 480watt of true/ pure power PSU
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ps : how to change the CAS timing in this DS3 Mobo hoh?? i already put manually 5-5-5-15-19, but when i check wif cpu-z its showing 3-5-5-15. i thinks this could make my system unstable. already tried the F3 & F4a BIOS, result still the same.. user posted image

It is time to wake up, Stress Prime 2004 x2 15hours 15minutes ++ passed @ 3066MHz..... thumbup.gif wub.gif

Did a google about those can hit 7 x 500 one, they cannot make the CPU stable for SP2004 more than 30 minutes probably and need good CPU cooling for that speed. Running dual SP2004 stress test will bring the CPU temp upto 60c with stock Intel cooling, don't play play.

update: 15hours 42mins now...

Haha .. LYN is too Busy ...
So be patience tongue.gif
Big Thread usually Neat but easy been Put behind if too much people around .
Small thread , people can aware about each little problem but makes a forum Messy .

haha , just my Opinion biggrin.gif

Usually the Intel speed step dont tackle the FSB rite ?
It tackle the Multiplier (for my case of P4 630 , in Speed step mode , the The multiplier is went down to 14X , in full use mode , it goes up to 15X)

Somehow , Disable your Speed Step if you want to OC high biggrin.gif
So that it will not be control Automatically but Mannually .
Without Speed Step ... 300MHz Bus will always be 300MHz .... But if you let your CPU in Idle mode .. it is kinda waste energy biggrin.gif

i got several questions...

1. you all OC using the easytune or from BIOS? i can't seemed to OC from BIOS cos when i set the CPU host clock more than 200, it'll jump back to default setting

2. my CPU fan is running at 900 to 1000rpm only? is this normal?

I oc thru BIOS upto 3066MHz, more than that I need Easytune.
Disable the fan control at BIOS.

wah...ram timing 5-5-5-15 kah~ owh ya..forgot intel one..heard that intel core didn't really got significant benefit if using tight timing...so then it can go to high speed oc rather than tight timing oc smile.gif

don't know izzit true or not..forgotten on the fact already smile.gif

edited :: sorry2..didn't really read the first post tongue.gif c2d ah? wah..really would like to see how its performance in super pie bechie~ izzit can easily kick down the amd cores
