u need to duplicate the superpi directory and run the 2nd SuperPi from it.

QUOTE(sup3rfly @ Aug 4 2006, 08:39 AM) well...lets say money is not an issue for this will will u go for????ppl are using quite low fsb on E6700 compare to E6600 as they used the multiplier to boost up the clock...but the one i m buying is not ES version so the multiplier is locked at x10.... for me, if money not an issue, i will alwiz go to the highest speed i can buy IF the oc limit is the same. U can try do review based on retail E6700 and E6600 first. It's because i wont run oc speed for daily use. So the higher the default clockspeed is better for me. but if u're going to run ur setup @ oc speed 24/7, then go for E6600. Even if money not an issue, it's still a money rite? u wont just throw it away (better give it to me 9x multiplier and 10x multiplier different, ah well i'm sure the 400 fsb limit is more than enuff.. 400x9= 3600ghz.. QUOTE(jarofclay @ Aug 4 2006, 09:40 AM) The most important thing for this is to have a mobo that can have high MCH voltage so that you could push the FSB to 420 and above. Just for comparison, Intel Bad Axe has upto 1.725V for MCH. Most other boards has upto 1.6++V for MCH voltage IIRC. Jarofclay, do u know whats the default MCH voltage? rite now seems i hit the wall @ 450 fsb in bios. It wont go any further. But i can go up to 500fsb with easytuner 5 (but not stable at all).this is my voltage setting. VDIMM +0.4 VPCIE +0.1 VMCH +0.3 VFSB +0.1 VCORE 1.375-1.424 ( all cant go more than 450fsb in bios) QUOTE(Austin @ Aug 4 2006, 10:51 AM) ok here's some benchmark results I tested just now... wow. do u really need that voltage at 2.8speed. I guess my stepping is good. I no need to up the mch voltage up to 0.3v @ 3ghz..Testbed: Core2 Duo E6300 SL9SA B2 Stepping Gigabyte 965-DS4 BIOS F3B Kingston Value RAM DDR-2 667 2x 1024MB Relabelled Unknown Chip Radeon X300SE 128MB MegaRAID 320-2E 512MB Buffer Dual Channel SCSI U320 PCI-E 2x Seagate Cheetah 10K.6 36GB 5x Seagate Cheetah 10K.7 300GB XG Vigor 500W PSU Setting: Vcore 1.3v VDIMM 2.3v MCH Voltage +0.3v FSB Voltage + 0.1v PCI-E Voltage +0.1v DIMM Timing CL 5-6-6-16 @ 800MHz |

QUOTE(csechuan @ Aug 4 2006, 11:00 AM) i tried on bios...i tweak the clock from 266 to 270 (for testing)...it rebooted twice and went in windows...den i chk with cpuz and spi run...still the default speed =/ but i chk in bios yea is tuned to 270 d worr...im real noob in dis =/ When it shut down, i guess that means your overclock isn't stable so it will revert back to the original state (266x7). Try playing with the FSB first, leaving the voltages at Normal and run Memtest #5 a couple of rounds before entering Windows, else you'll corrupt the Windows.... God speed1. can gip advices and xplaination? den how about the fsb:dram? mine 4:5? did u guys tune it after/b4 u oc ur cpu? Or it happens to tune itself while u oc ur cpu? for ur info: intel c2d e6300 stepping 6 rev 2 ga-965-ds3 F3bios rev C1 kingston ddr2 667 1gb x 1 coolermaster xtreme power 430W galaxy 7300gt ddr3 128mb |

@Irenic, I think it was 1.5V or 1.4V. I'll confirm it out for you later.
@gengstapo, one thing that most overlooked is that E6600 has 4MB L2 cache and that could give you roughly 10-15% increment in performance. That's why I was able to get sub 18s with 2.88ghz only while others get more than 18 sec even running at 3.15ghz. Most important criteria to reach high FSB is a good mobo that gives you a wide range of FSB and MCH voltage. With that, you could get lower multiplier chips and save up extra money for other stuffs such as fatbody Microns. |

for this c2d, dual super pi 32m, loops of 3dmarks, occt also cant prove stability..
i passed all of them with flying colors but then i failed sp2004 after 5hrs! 450x7 ram 900 4-5-4-13 vcore 1.375 in bios (1.34 cpuz) vdimm +0.2 vmch +0.2 - +0.3 all failed vfsb +0.1 vpcie +0.1 pci e clock 101 EIST disabled dunno what to do to make it stable prime at least 7 hrs. it's rare to have fail after 5hrs |
