QUOTE(life4 @ Jun 28 2014, 05:42 PM) Hi , I am thinking of looking for a job in singapore. Any idea what is the salary range for a j2ee java programmer with 2 years exp in singapore ? How much should I put for my expected salary so that it will not be too high till lost the chances of getting interviews? current salary in malayisa isaround 4k-4.5k. Thanks. How about putting the salary as negotiable so that you will not be harming your chance? Actually, you can look at singapore job portals like jobsdb and see what employer is offering for recruitment of similar position and experience. Wont be too far off with that.

QUOTE(soven @ Jun 27 2014, 12:13 AM) Hi all, I will be relocating to Singapore next month and am currently looking for a HDB to rent with budget about 2k. Preferably semi furnished. Work place is near Jurong East MRT Station Any particular area or block I should look into? Just want to have a better idea before I head down to Singapore to enlist the help of an agent. Currently looking in Jurong, clementi, chinese garden area.. Edit ./ I am not looking for property agents. Don't pm please. No property agent ? Good luck with that, especially with $2k budget.

QUOTE(yhoong12 @ Jun 27 2014, 09:53 AM) if your work place near jurong east mrt, then you can search Ivory Height(walking distance to JE MRT), Toh Guan(about 4 bus stop from JE mrt), or maybe HDB around Seventh-Day Heaven Adventist Church. But not sure 2K is enough to rent whole HDB or not. Thanks. Will look into it. QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Jun 28 2014, 11:26 PM) No property agent ? Good luck with that, especially with $2k budget. I am using property agent. Just did not want every property agent that viewed my message on here to contact me...

Hi people, I am moving my stuff back to Malaysia by air. Anyone know how much Malaysia custom tax for bulky electrical items like TV, monitor and printer? The items are few years old but still usable.

I know this has been discussed at nauseam, but I need one clarification on the extract taken from Page 1 regarding SG driving licence.
Officially there is a law that requires our Malaysian driving licence revoked if anyone would like to convert the licence to a Singapore driving licence. See the extract below from the JPJ Driver’s Education Curriculum handbook (on page 113 – 114). It does add on that one can still get back a Malaysian driving licence and that whilst holding a Singapore driving licence one can still drive a Malaysian registered car in Malaysia and Singapore.
So to say JPJ blacklist your Malaysian driving license is not correct and misguided, they are just doing their job as required by law. However many would like to keep both driving license, hence the 'extortion'. If you are currently holding two driving licenses, the JPJ system will not store your data when the Msia driving license is up for renewal. So technically, any request for extract from JPJ to have your SG license issued would have terminated your record. Could anyone confirm this?

QUOTE(Sammyking @ Jun 30 2014, 03:46 PM) Urh, my boss keeps changing my working hours!! Sometimes it's the regular 8-5 but sometimes it's odd late evening hours like 11am-8pm or worse 1pm-10pm. Are they even allowed to simply change my working hours as they wish?? my letter writes something along the lines of *company has the right to change working hours if deemed necessary* but this was not as per discussed and agreed in the interview!! I can't even arrange any classes after work with this fluctuating working time It seems like black and white told you the terms. But if you were plan to attend any courses why not discuss with your boss?
