Is anyone working in RWS? I lost my work pass last year around Dec and never bother much with it. Now I've resigned and been told that I have to make a police report about it. What could be thr worst  in?
*
Maybe landing yourself in jail? This is SG...dont play play...they can say you fail to report lost of work pass and you fail to report it since its almost coming to 6months already

the new rules say that the job postings must be up for at least 2-3 weeks...then after that period if its still vacant then only open to FT...

I know this has been discussed at nauseam,  but I need one clarification on the extract taken from Page 1 regarding SG driving licence.

Officially there is a law that requires our Malaysian driving licence revoked if anyone would like to convert the licence to a Singapore driving licence. See the extract below from the JPJ Driver’s Education Curriculum handbook (on page 113 – 114). It does add on that one can still get back a Malaysian driving licence and that whilst holding a Singapore driving licence one can still drive a Malaysian registered car in Malaysia and Singapore.

So to say JPJ blacklist your Malaysian driving license is not correct and misguided, they are just doing their job as required by law. However many would like to keep both driving license, hence the 'extortion'.
If you are currently holding two driving licenses, the JPJ system will not store your data when the Msia driving license is up for renewal. So technically, any request for extract from JPJ to have your SG license issued would have terminated your record. Could anyone confirm this?

I still manage to renew my MY driving license at the post office!!

But stop no place to sit? Generally will have some seats available..unless you're talking about those bus stops that are in the 'hot' areas...eg Orchard/Central Business District(CBD).

Traffic jam?...In SG its more likely HUMAN jam(on MRT) rather than Traffic jam on the road.

Weather is infact 95% very similar compared to Malaysia/KL/Klang Valley

Important note. You must be ready for LOTSA walking when you don't have your personal transportation(eg Cars/Bikes). This was one the major adjustments. But after awhile you'll get use the amount of walking per day. Can easily clock up 10k walking steps.

Tanjong Pagar area is consider CBD...yes there are rooms/units to rent..but you must be willing to pay for the rental...1 room can easily SGD1k per month( HDB gov housing common room with no attached bathroom). If you want an attached bathroom its normally a master room. If you're looking into renting a WHOLE HDB unit in and around Tanjong Pagar...its way above SGD2.5k per month

General Fahmy
yes, there are residential units in tanjong pagar itself

yes, u see SOME earning RM10k very lengang. but u did not see those SOME who earn S$10k very lengang either, did u? it all comes down to the company and environment. for me, i am currently enjoying my current job the most.

stress is relative on how you handle it. different people has different level of tolerance and ways to cope with it. from your replies, obviously, u are not very good in handling it or u are more of person who avoids problems instead of facing it.

well, i agree walking under the sun is not comfortable at all. but i find walking in the rain more of a problem. with the shoes completely soaked.

not only the shoes...but the SOCKS!!! DRIPPING n with AIRCON...gets very cold the feet

Question on PR

can PR holder leave Singapore for long period of time but still maintain their PR? What is the maximum period?
*
SG gov controls this Re-entry Permit(REP). That allows Singapore PR to re-enter to SG as a PR...now its a 5 years validity..used to be 5 or 10 years validity. If you remain outside of Singapore after the REP has expired, you can no longer return as a Singapore PR( fill up the white card). There's no min/max period that you can be away. But if you want to renew your REP(another 5 yeards), some say you better be working in SG for AT LEAST 1 year before your REP expires. Else you may not get your REP renewed

My parents and siblings have been "relocated" back to Malaysia for more than 10 years now. REP renewal no problem. They maintain a SG income and pay taxes to support the country.

Thats because they are supporting the country....taxes and income....
