All,
I would like to get some suggestion from you guys. Between Starhub and Singtel, which one is better in term or packages/time for installation/services/etc? This will be for satellite TV, internet (prefer fibre).
my friend told me to subscribe Singtel as the invoice/statement will include all although we add on any channels later on (expenses will be under company). But then, we have to wait around 2-weeks for the installation.
For Starhub, it will be fast to get but then if i add on channels, it will go to separate bill which i have to pay on my own..
So, appreciate your input. Thanks.

QUOTE(Feizai2013 @ Nov 4 2014, 12:43 AM) I dont think sg is a good place to retired. You have to keep on working .... Right now we are not really thinking about retiring yet as we are only in our 30s. I actually like the idea of keep on working as long as we can. Many man die shortly after they stop working.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Nov 4 2014, 08:07 AM) For PR ... quite a lot of us here have PR liao. Do step 1 & 2 first, step 3 need to wait couple of years. IT market still good here, the problem is getting a job that pays well because of all the other foreigners undercutting all the available vacancies. SG is a playground for the rich. If you rich and can live in condo or sentosa cove then SG will also be a kick ass place for you to retire. The rest of us plebs need to pay off HDB rent it out and take the money gtfo back to some kampung in Malaysia to survive Ok got it. Will get a job first and I believe pay will increase later after I gain some working experience in Singapore. I wonder what kind of salary range will allow us to rent a 500-700 sqf apartment/condo in Singapore?

QUOTE(Fiona Chin @ Nov 4 2014, 08:22 AM) Yes, that is the normal path under technical scheme. Got other investor's scheme and entrepreneur's scheme if you belong to those group, can get PR faster under those 2 schemes. Working in SG can go back MY weekly, see see parents, leech their food and accommodation, spend RM act like queen, until people bring a gun and rob you. Actually growing old in SG is better than MY, in terms of security, healthcare and ah pek wheel chair friendly facilities. All those come with a price though. Earn you dough in this 30-40 years then pay it all back to the society when you grow old . Yes, that's what we are thinking too. Can easily go back to visit parents when we wants. And that part about gun and robbing is the main reason we plan to immigrate. The crime rate here has deteriorate steadily every year...

Same same me and hubby stay SG also because of nearer to family. If want money overseas are much better. SG safety also degraded if you want to be picky, compare to 10 years ago. Try come here and experience the local's pro and cons before decide to "immigrate" or not. Not gold every where in SG.

QUOTE(General Fahmy @ Nov 4 2014, 01:49 PM) Thanks for info bro. Have to take 3 years to apply for PR? Walao. Why so long? Last time very easy, find job then can get PR, that was in 2009 Find job then get PR? Where got so bloody easy? Now my colleagues... Mostly 2~3 years then apply PR. M'sian quite easy get according to what I heard from my colleague. Some other nations harder to get. Of course... If you're elite, different story la. QUOTE(General Fahmy @ Nov 4 2014, 01:51 PM) Spore not so easy like last time. I think all the country also closing their doors to migration. But they post job ads to local for 14 days at where? A govt job site? Then only they post at jobstreet, monster and the Strait Times? Got a specific website. Jobsdb/jobsbank I think. Why not you find out from MOM website?

QUOTE(sheng291 @ Nov 4 2014, 08:05 AM) SG is a good place to stay, if you're 1. elite 2. workaholic 3. believe that your children is elite as well. sg is a good place, but you nid to be elite to survive, else due to high competitive rate, you can be taken down anytime, even after becoming a Singaporean. you can only retired at age 65 (to take out your cpf) that day i saw a result paper for primary school, average mark 85+/100, get 38 rank in the class.. if you like being competitive and feel confident, SG is definitely your best place. If not, maybe should consider other option. well, sadly to say, i'm none of it. 1. highest qualification spm 2. go in office at 9am, by 4pm out of office already 3. maybe still got hope

QUOTE(General Fahmy @ Nov 4 2014, 08:33 PM) Dunno, justnow the way you wrote, I assumed that you were saying the MoM have a jobsite for foreigners to find jobs. MOM only got jobsbank, you still can access the list, just that you can't log in and apply, and most of them for singaporean and PR only. but the trick is you can try find any suitable job and if got left contact, still can ask. if no contact, copy the ads and google up, see gt similar ads at other website (jobstreet and etc) or not
