hi folks, I would like to convert MY driving license to SG driving license. I have passed the BTT exam. From my understanding, I need to get a driving record from JPJ. What I should tell them (eg: license conversion)? Do I need to surrender MY driving license to JPJ? Is it possible to hold 2 licenses at the same time. Thanks

It's a coincidence that i also passed my BTT today. JPJ will take your licence as you cannot hold 2 license at the same time. Hope it help.

Yes is possible. In Johor only. In malaysia land everything is possible with bribe.

Because only JPJ Johor allows such thing.

I can take cab under company. So, dont need to drive. I know it is possible but my company is amo, so no corruption allowed.

Regarding the corruption, that is your assumption to make such statement. I am just stating my company rules as most MNC company have strict clause about corruption, pretty common practice.

I just got my driving history extract from JPJ KL. This is the second time I got it. The 1st time I got it also in KL. They never chop and sign the letter and didnt provide me receipt as well. When I submit to driving center in ubi for conversion, the officer do not accept it. She said the letter must either with chop and signed by the officer or attached with a receipt. She show me other ppl's letter with chop and signed by officer. My colleague got the jpj extract from penang, no chop and sign also. Officer do not accept it. Last friday I went back kl and go jpj to get again. The jpj staff provide me receipt but refuse to sign and chop. They said the extract is computer genearated and do not need to sign and chop. When I about to leave the jpj office, I saw the ketua of the jpj smoking downstair. I talked to him and asked him to help, then I passed to him, he chop and signed. When he sign, his staff still make noise, said why need sign and chop. I told thm I gonna travel to Australia and gonna drive there in order to get the extract. They never blacklist or do anything, just print out. I guess most of the ppl got the extract witH chop and sign are from JB JPJ, because the jpj in jb familiar with the sg officer requirement and they know you need it for conversion, so they will do that. So when u get the letter from JPJ, must get the receipt, try to get thm sign n chop. If  not sg wont accept. When I getting the letter, the staff even ask me do I want to change my license to the new type by extending 1 more year. My license expire 2018. For your info, malaysian holding malaysia driving license can drive a year without conversion provided you are not PR. I have called traffic police in sg to clarify. I m driving without converting, I still have no time to do my conversion. Work permit holder not allowed to drive.

answer to your first questions is obviously yes. I dont know for certain if this can be done other than JB JPJ office. But I am sure JPJ JB does this forged paper work . I seen my friend holding both MY and SG licence. It is obvious that if i had known the process I must have known someone that did it before. Learn to read carefully.

Also please learn not to ASSUME people of doing such actions, nonetheless stating it in public. It makes you look very immature. First thing I dont even need such "doggy" paper work because I have an Australian licence. Why bother paying that money when SG accepts Australian licence.

Learn to hold back your words. Think before you make assumptions.

I am just listing that one place that is certain that you can do such paper work.
If you want to know about other states, please look it up.

I know that I will need to be out early in the morning ( coming in from woodland) , but wanted to know how early, since this is my first time. need some sifu's opinion or anybody have similar experience before .

yeah...go in with the white card first...then go do medical checkup...
after getting your medical report...
pass it to your HR to make appointment to go MOM for thumbprint...
during this time u will also pass the white card to them and wait they sent the pass to your company a few days later

don't have idea on the plan as i register as subline under my uncle who's living here

I can live comfortably with 2.5k but can also choose to live in debt with 20k. If you think chap fan is miserable then don't earn only 2.5k.

Those like low cost house. Cause I heard cannot take loan if no income or whatever, if never pay income tax, when buy property they sometimes will come ransack your house and ask for income tax payback. So if working in Sg, can entitle to these loans and stuff? Especially the low cost house.

quick question. how fast MOM will give actual EP/work permit after we done with the biometric process ? same day or few days later ?

PR must convert, in between 6 months of getting PR

as long as you got your Marehsia driving license before you start work in Sg, you can convert.

Why is the deal with most of you guys/girls wanting to apply for PR? Don't you all know you kena a 36% indirect tax

im working in malaysia, thinking to work in singapore, and i have a main concern before moving there, hope i can get a clear answer from here.

1. im single and 29, should i stay in malaysia with Rm4500-5000 income? or should i go to sg with SGD4500?
2. if i work in sg, i plan it to be long term, so how much income for an average family should have with 2 kids in sg? says staying in apartment(rent or owned) and owned a C segment car? (i have no idea about the hosing loan and car OTR will cost, brief in details would be very appreciate)
