Not many 8-10K jobs for people who don't already know their way into this job market and know what & where to target with their given skillset & qualifications.

At that salary level, only perhaps IT and banking will take a chance on candidates who are totally new to the market. Other industries have no shortage of qualified people already onshore with employment/residence status.

can hire job agents from here?

Can you let me know some of the names?
*
I find them through their ads on jobstreet etc, but instead of inquiring about the job advertised, i also inquired for their service gahahaha (obviously cuz they wont just handle 1 company mar.. ask them what other positions/company they have also lo).

However i would really suggest that you come over here first (easier if you're from johor or even better with relatives who are willing to accommodate you) then get a prepaid number to give employer/job agents the impression that you've been here for a while. i secured a job in 1 week

that's my advise la...so..Best of luck mate icon_rolleyes.gif .

That willingness to fire also contributes to the industry's willingness to hire.

Accountancy? Depends on which industry the accountant is in. If he is in banking, then yes, it's easier to get in compared to say a local GLC where at your target salary level, you'll need minimum ICPAS membership and familiarity with local accounting standards, tax laws and commercial practices ie. you'll be in a controller level role in charge of the entire book. If it's MNC accounting service center, they will have more than just local GAAP accounting, but also US GAAP and/or IAS. They may also cover local accounting of other countries which makes foreign experience welcome.

It's quite true. I basically ended up here in Singapore because the company wanted to move all finance operations in KL to SG. Took the package and came here. Never looked back since.

I think you need to take the local JB bus from JB sentral (walk from CIQ), not sure if there is any bus direct from SG.

Where are you working? Construction company?

If so most probably they will buy for you. Why buy it yourself? Construction company I think mostly will open account with some shops then can bring employee go there pick and straight debit into their account.

That's my case la. Not sure for yours.

My safety shoes not the black type one biggrin.gif But doesn't really matter. If work in construction, it will be covered by dust. Makes no difference at the end of the day unless you clean it off daily biggrin.gif

Should be quite easy to get arh. Sometimes pass through some small store also got sell safety shoes that looks not so traditional. In SG arh... Not very sure. That time my supervisor bring me go buy one biggrin.gif

Can't get in JB? Should be cheaper there right? IIRC, mine is 50+ or 60SGD. Not cheap eh.
