rOnnyJustrOnGood share.
YouDontKnowMyNamecheck out that torque dip at 4.5k RPM.

Reason I'm asking, is I don't think the engine is really a flat torque engine, and the way to explain the official dyno chart, is that the chart was generated on wheel, with the CVT, with the data not normalized to gear position.

In other words, the dyno chart is comparing CFE with 2L NA, with the former running CVT and the later running at fixed gear.

In real world, if pitting against EB with say an Accord 2L, these 2 cars have similar 0-100kmh time.

The dyno chart is misleading. I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to say here.

the official chart is generated at crank... no car manufacturer produces wheel horsepower chart..
at crank, there is no transmission losses.. pure power generated by the engine.. the cvt, tyres everything connected to the crank, sips a bit of power from it... that is called transmission losses...

khairilyazitAll you said is correct, and I presumed it to be true.
Fact is, if the torque is so good, why does it do 0-100kmh similarly to a 2L Accord. Same goes to Preve and Inspira S.

no other than to limit the stress to CVT. otherwise the CVT kaput in no time.

the cvt is the bottleneck... constantly changing ratio is not fast..
thats why manual/DSG is still the fastest... that fixed ratio+clutch maens not so much power is lost in translation...
up till now, no one knows how to properly Dyno a CVT as most dyno depends on run in certain gears to get the info...

Probably doing my own calculation is more satisfying than simply send to dyno test.

Bottom line is, most people buy Exora Bold for big space. Performance is 2nd/3rd/last priority. So far, I'm satisfied with its performance. U want powerful MPV, buy Ford S-Max at RM200K sweat.gif

I certainly hope so, coz its impossible for me to drive long distance with a fragile instrument frequently with an aircon that takes holidays on whim...if this continues I will sell my exora, huge regret but what to do...it just isn't working... cry.gif

gosh...i intend to get a brown exora also..so will be similar to taxi (though taxi is silver mix wit brown). but if i'm a taxi drive, the turbo engine will cost me a bomb for those town errands...kinda pity them. they should ask them standardized it either saga or exora.

and now not too sure if getting exora for my family mpv is a good idea after all
