I always wanted one but how's the FC for daily driving?
*
QUOTE(neo1point3 @ Mar 26 2014, 02:41 PM)
FC is equivalent to its power  brows.gif  cool2.gif

7-8km per litre in city  sweat.gif
*
I usually average around 8.5km/L for 100% city drive

Pretty reasonable to me considering it's power. Compared to Innova's 10km/L but very underpowered.

Just get my car yesterday....feel abit noisy when idling...issit normal?
*
The cooling fan is noisy even when idling. This is very normal as to cool down the massive amounts of heat the turbo engine generates.

I also noticed during the first few weeks when my EB still very new, the fan is on very often and for long periods of time.

will need sometimes to detect others fault. Current find out:

1) Car when moving applying brakes got humming sound
2) Front left passenger door side noisy when moving on uneven road
*
Both of the problems don't seem normal to me. Perhaps you should get that checked during your first service.

If I recall correctly, you posted a video some time ago showing your open pod filter and the turbo boost sound right?

How much did the modification cost? and can the sound be turned off somehow?

Under Rm200 depend on filter. Buy branded open pod filter like k&n or simota ori and 3" piping. Can't turn off la. it's boosted.
*
Means everytime step on accelerator got that boost sound brows.gif

Was thinking of modding it to my unit, but worried that the sound might get annoying after awhile lol

you mean innova 2.0L engine have better mileage? can go up to 10km? are you a driver for both cfe and innova?
*
I own an Exora Bold CFE myself.

The Innova's FC stats I obtained it from fuelly.com (http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/innova/2012)
The average fuel consumption stats are submitted by multiple owners over a period of time.

It's not a reliable way of gauging fuel consumptions between cars, but I just used it for comparison sake smile.gif

i see. reason im asking because the roads that you use and the driving patterns that you have different compare to every one of us. hence if you've drive both, then easier to make a comparison.

btw what do you mean by innova underpower? 2.0L still underpower?
*
I have a friend of mine who once I let him have a go in my Exora, his feedback was that the Exora is very powerful compared to his mom's Innova (he often drives his mom's Innova).

According to him, the Innova requires hard revving for it to accelerate decently. Whereas for the exora, once the turbo kicks in, all the acceleration power is there when you need it.

Since then, he constantly complains about his mom's Innova being underpowered and how he wishes he could turbocharge it laugh.gif

Moreover, on paper (the specs) the Innova IS underpowered.
Based on the calculations of the engine output figures (Horsepower, torque), and the kerb weight of the Innova.

The exora may not be the most powerful MPV around, but thanks to the 1.6 turbo engine, it's definitely one of the better performing MPVs.
The Innova doesn't have much torque despite being a 2.0 in order to lug around the massive weight of the car (due to the engine being naturally aspirated, as opposed to a turbo engine which has lots of torque)

Torque is very important to an MPV, just like how it is to a pickup truck nod.gif

QUOTE(luckykid5 @ Mar 30 2014, 02:40 AM)
i see. then not so bad if you can hit around 300km for rm70 petrol. currently driving myvi and rm70 i can hit up to 400km.
*
Myvi small and light ma. The engine doesn't need to work as hard to get it moving laugh.gif

i see, then probably you are right then. when i test drive exora and driving uphill, it felt powerful and no lagging (i dont need to over press the fuel pedal). but the engine noise is really loud (especially i compare to those peugeot turbo engine) but i guess it's a wrong comparison since the price nearly double what proton cost us right. so far are you happy with exora? any problems faced? How much you bought?
*
I bought it when they were having year end sales last year, so I guess the discounts I got were good.

So far up to now of owning the EB (4 months already), I'm overall very satisfied with it. No problems so far.
The turbo power is what puts a smile on my face everytime brows.gif

Regarding the X1R additive, is it forced upon to the customers to buy when doing service intervals?

Looks like it's compulsory to be sold to us. Can we request the SC to NOT sell it to us?

Here's my experience with the car, mine is 2013 Brown.

Daily use tips:
- Turn on car, let all indicator light up, before start engine.
- Turbo can get very hot after use, and there is an apparent 'boiling' sound when you open the bonnet. For this reason, do not save on engine oil, use the best you can afford.
- DO NOT ADD ENGINE OIL ADDITIVES OF ANY KIND. No Tufoil, no X1R, no Teflon. Anything you add will thicken (increase oil viscosity) and hasten oil sludge and cause oil line blockage.

FC tips:
- This CVT is programmed to fully engage at 1.5k RPM.
- If stuck in jam, between 1.5k to 1.8k RPM is the most fuel economy at slow speed drive.
- If you want to speed up, step harder to reach 60kmh fast, and ease on the accelerator and cruise to maximize FC. Do not accelerate too slowly, or you will notice 15~16 liter/100km FC the whole way.
- To my knowledge, the poor FC is due to low compression ratio with no turbo boost.
- My current FC is 30% city, 35% uphill, 35% downhill at 11.4l/100km, or 8.77 kmpl, which is 20.6mpg. Quite bad, near terrible, if compared to similar engines like Kuga EcoBoost (1.6l with Borg KP39 turbo).

Maybe they will do the same thing they did with the prevé,the upgraded 1.6 liter Campro CFE hp increase from 138 to 153 with 235 torque.Updated ECU programme now maximizes the engine power to the max..

I have a feeling that EB will release new version in late 2015. Probably with ESC and more airbags or something wink.gif

is it worth to get Prime than Premium..??
*
Depends on what you want from your MPV. To me the only selling point for the Prime is just the captain seats, which looks pretty comfy for long journey trips.
But downside is that the prime is only a 6 seater (due to the captain seats).

I personally took the Premium over the prime because I find that the extra headrest monitors are useless and I prefer the practicality of having a 7 seater rather than a 6 seater. I also really didn't like the fake "wood" trim around the dashboard centre console. Moreover, to me the prime's extra features doesn't justify the extra RM10k.
