Danggg! It gave me an impression that it would look like a PS1/PS2 game. Anyone can post how rough the graphics look like? a screenshot maybe?
I'm interested on how significant the Pro can improve the VR's graphics. |

QUOTE(squall_12 @ Oct 14 2016, 06:56 PM) QUOTE(iGamer @ Oct 14 2016, 11:15 PM) It only plays 3D 360 videos uploaded by users, meaning it can't play 3D bluray movies  I think 3D bluray needs additional tweaking and patch from Sony to be made compatible. As far as I know, 3D VR is fantastic in games that are made for PSVR now. Cinematic mode is a 3D cinema, so I'm not sure how they'll do 3D movies on 3D itself.Do we at least get HD quality from PSVR cinema mode? Anything less than HD equivalent sharpness is like watching DVD quality movie.... Perhaps future vr set needs to have at least 4K or even 8k pixels to give us HD equivalent sharpness at such close proximity to our eyes? The review on Driveclub VR is bad, saying the low resolution of the far distance make it difficult to see the turns ahead. Alright I managed to play non-stop for 5 hours straight, decided to end the session because my eyes was feeling tired. Headset is comfy as hell, I think I can easily do 10 hours had my eyes let me. Make sure you calibrate properly before you start playing with your headset, that means you'll be better off doing the advanced calibrating at the PS4 settings, where you hold your headset and match the lights on your TV/monitor screen, this is way difficult than it sounds cause I kept moving my hands and the damn calibration is taking its sweet time. After that go ahead and do the eye calibration and centering, the 70cm one. Switch off all lights or cover your windows in daytime. I used my study desk and a regular chair, stacked 12 PS4 game cases, a toilet roll and placed the camera right on top of it. Distance between my headset and camera is roughly 1.2 meters away. With this set up I had absolutely no issues with tracking throughout the session, only had two instance where I experienced the drift to the left problem once I pushed the PS button and exited to the PS4 home screen, easily remedied by holding the option button to recenter. Another time the cinematic mode was being jittery as I moved my head, I suspect it's the PS4 being laggy while a VR game is being run, problem went away after I close the VR application. Try not to block your headset lights when moving your controller around, this was evident when I was busy swinging the Miku glow stick and everything starts to jitter. It'll be interesting how they handle the aim controller with Farpoint next year. Alright now that boring stuff gets out of the way, let's talk about game impressions. I highly highly highly recommend getting the free Playroom VR and start out with Robots Rescue, it's a fantastic 3D VR platformer with you controlling a robot and trying to catch the other robots scattered around the area. You'll feel queasy when you start moving the robot around so be sure to take it nice and easy. You can smash your head on the boulders too! Next up, Battlezone. This is so much fun, I felt queasy when I started to rotate the tank, as I mentioned, you don't need to quit playing when you feel that way, just take it easy and let your brain adjust itself. If you can't handle this, I don't recommend trying RIGS cause that's far more intense. Rez is amazing as well, you get sucked into the world and I loved everything about it, this and Thumper is a must buy for music fans. No issues with it whatsoever. Kitchen demo, goddamn it I knew exactly what's going to happen, and yet the crazy bitch freaks me out, I've felt that stab, it's insane how immersive it is, despite the jaggy image. Summer Lesson, or should I say the paid tech demo of future dating sims. When she comes closer towards me I instinctively move back a little, it's really solid immersion, girls beware, I can see bright future with this. Not just for entertainment, but for virtual counseling and therapy. 360 Date, it was kinda cool, but I had little control over playback and I wanted to try other things. Will try watching the entire thing tonight. Alright now here's the best part of the entire session, I believe Miku and games with similar style are perfect for PSVR. I think for the 7 songs they had in stage 1 of VR future live, I just kept repeating and repeating the concert. It's just that good. Good for exercising too, cause you'll be swinging the glow sticks throughout the performance. If you liked panties, and with SEGA's blessing, you can have panties, just set height to -100 and head on stage. Black panties aside, the 3D effects are super gorgeous, everything is right in your face, literally get up close and personal with the virtual idol. This makes it pointless to be standing outside of the stage. You'd want to stay as close to her as you can. Next up I tried some games in cinematic mode, starting with War Thunder. It's somewhat playable, texts are slightly readable to a certain extent, but I just can't get into it due to the jaggedness of everything. I'll just have to wait for the VR support. Switched to more Miku goodness and I was blown away, I liked it so much I just carried on playing for the rest of my session. Easily the most playable game in large size cinematic mode. Both Project Diva X and Future Tone are fantastic on the big screen, probably due to fact it's sharp to begin with and super colorful. Everything just pops out in front of you, and I had to shift my view to follow the music notes. I guess I'll be trying all my PS4 games to see what works, any ideas on what I should try next? I doubt any direct capture screenshot will show us the true picture quality. The main reason is like a same picture that looks nice and sharp when looked from a distance will looked pixelated if held literally in your face.I'm interested on how significant the Pro can improve the VR's graphics. Go see many of the YouTube videos, we can definitely see that text is kind of blurry in the game. The sacrifice of psvr is the picture sharpness, texture and polygons count, but definitely generation ahead of ps2 graphic lah |

QUOTE(cryspower @ Oct 15 2016, 08:31 AM) I've been to Japan for idols handshake events and concerts. twice this year already. I wonder with VR , will they make an app for a virtual experience in the future, or concert videos in VR mode . that will make my day. There are BILLIONS to be made here, I'm sure they're working on it. Extra virtual tickets sold for live baseball matches and concert events is coming for sure. |

I'm actually referring to the overall picture become less sharp when viewed up closed, it's different analogy here, like put a printed brochure up close and sharp print suddenly show all the dots that make up the print.Fallout 4 and GTAV would look like shit from a distance, have to confirm tonight. 2D indie titles and fighting games should be fine. I know in the game nearer item look great and detailed because they occupy most of the available resolution of the display, just like the car dashboard look really detail in Driveclub VR but the roads ahead is blurry. QUOTE(squall_12 @ Oct 15 2016, 08:53 AM) I don't agree that Driveclub is rushed, the original team was already working on it way before many other titles, I'm afraid it's the resolution limitation of the screen that's the problem for the blurry complain. Possible work around is by having in-game design decision to make road turn more apparent e.g having obvious big arrow signs |

Well I'm going to try a few more cinematic games before I'm diving deep into RIGS tonight.
This one has the most potential, it's PSVR's very own Rocket League and it's addictive! See you guys next week! |

Not to throw a wet blanket over the red hot excitement here, but this is from a user in NeoGAF who has been trying his best to get it working, and still cant. Plenty of tracking problems as well as camera glitches. This is not his first VR experience, he has an Oculus Rift, which coincidentally, is a sit/standing experience very similar to the PSVR.
![]() In fact, in the thread where that post comes from, experience varying all the way from "no problems whatsoever" to "totally unplayable". Take it what you will. The Vive and the Rift has its share of problems as well, but they were rectified immediately with software push via SteamVR(for Vive) or Oculus's own update. He has the option to do a full refund with Amazon. No such options locally here. This post has been edited by stringfellow: Oct 15 2016, 11:20 PM |

Man, how on earth did I just spend 5 hours playing RIGS? I guess dimming the display helped.
Endzone is the new crack. There's 7 days exchange with Sony, so far my headset is flawless. Dude should build a special dark corner and try again. This post has been edited by WooTz: Oct 16 2016, 02:19 AM |

7 days exchange. Not a refund. Sometimes, things just doesn't work with the way you living area arrangement. Neither will exchanging works if it entails having to totally redecorate the living area with "dark corners" and black cloths.
Not a problem to those who have dedicated room setup for VR. Just telling it as it is, folks. Don't want you to purchase the unit and then stuck with the conundrum of having to redecorate, which may or may not cost more money. Money spent on PSVR here is not refundable. |

Miku VR future live pro tip.
Might want to enjoy the Project Diva X VR patch first before deciding on this purchase. You can pick any song, any modules and accessory and any stage you want and edit into your personal concert. My personal favorite is the underwater one. Best part is you can pause the performance and adjust the height on the fly. Those 3D modules are really cool. |
