initial thinking is plan to buy myvi. indeed now its top sales car model in msia. design every things ok.. drive my gf family latest version myvi as well.. feel so far so good.. but I'm thinking further.. wish to have boot space and family usage.. myvi price rm56k for 1.5SE.. i can get add on another 5k to get Preve Exec AT already.. haha VIOS or CITY just feel much over budget..

for me, if want to buy car, must buy full specs or at least 2nd version.. i don't want to buy a brand or body only.. so i compare price within full specs of all brand..

From specs we can know PREVE and FORD should the best among these. people will consider resale value of car.. but i not much care on it. i buy car is not for sales.. probably i want to use for around 10+ years. unless crash or major problem, then only try to trade in.. my mum agreed and support me to buy this car.. but dad economic thinking, as me buy SAGA. LOL

personally like PREVE, from interior and exterior (except rear design). but its ok.. wait july my gf back already then will go visit again.. ^^ car must be wait after house outside area finish renovate first.. (change gate door and roof). if not, no space for my new car to park..

if your dad insist to follow him, buy Persona SV.. middle ground between Preve n Saga..

If you can fork out extra for Premium then don't take exec... since u dislike noise, you won't like the whining in the exec model.

and even Premium 2014 stock has good offer now

No Doubt Preve is the better choice - the only problem i am having is the service center - super slow and inefficient! Good thing is there is no major breakdown for Preve that i heard off - usual problem like fitting - kruk kruk sound and so on.

My relative 1 yr old Altis also got sound dy - the prob is toyota has so little issue with fittings the service center ppl say need one whole day to find out where the sound comes from. Where as my preve i told them got sound from here they staight order parts saying this one is known issue dy... and really it fixed once they change the part.

If you can bear with the slow SC... set your expectation lower on the fittings (Its still way better than other protons we own so far.) Preve is a fun car to drive... FYI that day this Civic 2.0 try to tailgate me (Damn pantang people tailgate me like crazy fella ) - at traffic light put to manual mode pedal to metal - Preve smoke it!!

Attrage is a pretty decend car - fuel efficiency way better than Jazz Hybrid. But car is too light for my liking. Ford Ecoboost - haven't tried but should be high in my list. The rest T/H/N ... no comments. They have good resale value - and branded - people see ppl say good choise. Proton ppl see ppl ask aiyooo why buy potong? ... but at the end of the day when i drive my car - i know i made no mistake.

erm.. from test drive unit, i can feel the build is ok la.. engine whining sounds each car also will got.. no matter C,V,A.. hmm from test drive unit, which non ANCAP unit, i able to accept it.. from your all review, seems ANCAP version is much better after use VT3+. hopefully yes i would choose the right choices as well.. i will choose the car i prefer and won't care about others.. hahha..

But every car also has the goods and bads, so it's always which one we prefer most and which least hence we are ready to compromise.

Just searched around for a 2nd hand preve cfe, visited one shop and the sales man keep on telling me the preve is a dead car shit car etc. The most funny part is he tells me that preve handling sucks and he point me to a forte 1.6 and tell me that is much better Lol? As far as I heard no matter how suck proton car is, the handling is superb.Btw was really wondering why ppl hate preve so much ?any major issue meh?

This one very easy to solve. Easy solution with step-by-step guide:

1) Ask him "Do you own a or have you owned a Preve?"

To which he will retort: "Never! Don't want to own that 'dead shit car' and will never own Proton!"

You have few options from here on. Choose wisely. You may:
A) Tell him: "Then you just shut the f*ck up lah." . And walk out.
B) Slap him. And walk out.
C) Take a Proton Preve brochure, hit his face with it. And walk out.
D) Take a KIA Forte brochure, stick it up his wherever. And walk out.

Or the ultimate choice.

E) Tell him 'Then you just shut the f*ck up lah.", slap him, take a Preve brochure and hit his face with your right hand, while simultaneous taking a KIA Forte brochure and stick it up his wherever with your left hand. And walk out. Consider running right after that.

IF ALL ELSE FAILS!! And he retorts: "Ya! I own a Preve and I hate it! I am a dead shit idiot!" . To which you only have one option..

A) Walk out the shop. Go online. Come to lowyat forum (don't bother post on FB cause your friends don't care), and cry to us. We will lend you a shoulder, but not our beloved Preve.

forte plastic doesnt looks more quality than preve. the car handle feels the same, the interior plastic also same. the steering ugly. rear looks cun abit.. but power, preve cfe smoke forte 1.6 or 2.0, anyday any time.

likely his forte stock can't sell that's why doing hard promoting to you

and you can tell him since preve damn sucks, can he lower another 10k or not ? you do him a favour by taking away his sucky car

Well for me never need to bother what others think.. the fact is we chosen a decent car.... yes I say decent and not great because I am getting this car at only RM70k and what car do you get at RM70k with these features + quality.

But by its own class, it's a great car for sure.

Same reverse psychological thing I had on 1 guy who wanted to buy my old car but was badmouthing at "her" saying...
"look so old, is it kereta potong, so many things need to fix" padahal the car has no problem at all.

U know they just wanted to make you feel your car is so lousy so you would lower down the price!!!

But the thing is you must always be confident with the choice you made so I just wouldn't bother selling to him. The second day someone agreed with much higher price and eventually placed deposit, deal was done in the next day itself!

I would say preve is the best car for me in this price range , from safety , accessories , comfort to performance

David, The whinning sound in exec is not that stong for ANCAP. Is like CFe in fact...did u tried before the ANCAP 1?

Agreed bro.. Preve is a good choice, Base Model is only about RM63K or something like than but of course, the CFE version is closer to RM73K. But Preve handling is better than Almera and a bit bigger and more comfortable for long distance driving
