Lately, had an eye opener of how chinaman company runs a F&B outlet. few branches established in couple of years.

Staffs looks like underpaid but one thing amazed me, their brainwashing of staffs to be dedicated in the work cannot be taken lightly. It's like children going to public school by bus , wakes up at 5.30 and reach school at 6.30 everyday. It's quite known to us that chinese students were drilled since their school days to work hard and nothing will breaks this. It's a regiment or military standards in the chinese world.

The colleague im having, they have worked for 2-4 years now. 6 days work. full day ok.. No one can take off day on sat and sun. it's a peak day.

Few nepalese working there too. one of them told me he is getting tired now.
There's no chair in the workplace to seat and we kept walking up and down serving customers everyday. I worked at 7am till 4pm.

What couldn't break them, i wonder?
How i know the staffs not getting as much as i am, my manager told me this not to reveal my pay to anybody as i get more than them.

What a pity that these fellas were actually trained their guns to commit to such laborous work daily and couldn't break out from their circles of believing that there's actually sunlight or greener grounds elsewhere. Im not sure if these fear factor causes them to anchored to the company and afraid to move out or im getting the same treatment now when manager implant " YOur salary is better than them" , he probably said to anybody who joined them to. sweat.gif  That's probably how the Game starts manually. haha.

what do you guys think ? I think the company knows how to play the game well to secure long serving staff just like japs did , but what is the secret to all this thing? Im sure there's also staff turnover but many of those that hold backs and stay loyal to the company is hard to come by these days with low pay and no life.
*
A few factors. In comfort zone and afraid if they move somewhere else the situation will be worst. No ambition so the job is fine for them. Or just plain job security.

I'd like to add a serious offender to the list, beeongroup and beeonpay (subsidiary of beeongroup), one of the worse companies you'll find. They talk about being islamic but they are far from it, i mean even walton is more islamic than them. They want to build apps and financial products but they are a company of managers, they treat their workers like crap. They dont give you the equipment you need, they dont equip their tech workers office (literally nothing, not even a fridge or water filter or even computers), workers are fired on the spot with no advance warning and no pay for the previous month, claims barely even accepted despite relevant (i wasnt even paid back for obtaining card writers and readers just so their workers can have the cards they need to access office) and they expect everything from you in terms of the job without proper management and planning of the work itself. They dont even give you the appropriate pay (they put you in cyberjaya with nothing and pay you only 3k a month, cant survive there with such low pay for app developer in such an area).

How they poached Silmi senior chairman of matrade is something im surprised, he says he wants to help local businesses but he promotes the business of his enemies (china) and just allows all this bad behaviour to continue. They even have maybank people working for them.

This company only hires muslims and foreigners partly because they can pay them low and not even handle their visas. The founders each have 5 luxurious cars that average about a million each but cant even put effort into their own business to make it succeed. If you do see them dont work for them, dont buy/use their product, dont even do business with them as you'll be hurting yourself/others.

This case isnt the knowing mentality kind of thing, its a warning that they are unprofessional and will hurt everyone and the economy. Currently they are contracting cheapo indian and russian programmer groups so you can be rest assured that their product is gonna be crap. I used to work for them and i tried to help them to succeed but they refused to listen to me and fired me instead, wont even pay me when i needed my salary when my mum in hospital too.

Hi All,

I'm sharing an experience with one of the online marketplace in Brunei name Babakompo. They can offer you good salary but any other facility for your stay will be very bad. The HR will cheat you on the accommodation but end up stay at Shop houses like Bangladesh.

The office here also shoplot office with all staffs clamp together.

The worst is the chinaman boss try to bypass the leader to disturb the team.

The boss will never trust the staffs even work for him more than 10 years.

Budget also limited.

Please stay away from this company. Any question can PM me.

DSI Global Sdn Bhd based in Kota Damansara(currently). Will be moving to KL Sentral. For jobseekers, you will regret working in this company. Why i said that?

1. The company always delay the employees salary.
2. They never pay for EPF contribution even the deduction in every month payroll.
3. Not appreciated the employee work effort.Any wrong doing will lead to claim or salary on hold
4. Salary increament during the confirmation as stated amount in the letter, never been adjusted in the salary payout.
5. Poor Management..Have no proper HR procedures.Alot of grey area on employees entitlement. Is based HOD approver basis.

I think it's worth to mention that Industrial Relations have thrown out more than 10,000 requests for assistance by employees.
Chinaman companies are definitely both increasing and bold in how they treat staff badly.
And if you don't have connections or a supportive family, you WILL be hit.
It's just a matter of time for people enjoying their high salary. If they can't migrate, they better kiss ass in Malaysia laugh.gif

QUOTE(Dern @ May 28 2017, 08:42 AM)
don't think it's scared, it's not worth to mention....having said that, doesn't mean people don't know at the back, do get it straight that chinaman companies is referring to local Malaysian Chinese style of managing, not china people style of managing....there's a world of big difference there.  laugh.gif

A good Chinaman company review by employees on Glassdoor (Of course the CEO apologises to the politician, he wants to keep running a sweatshop):

Pros
There is a big pool of Gen Y employees and therefore you get to make friends. The starting pay is on par with industry standard.
Cons
When you step into the office, there is already a negative vibe which can be felt immediately as a result of negative and primitive culture in this company and employees are unhappy. At work, you are not allowed to talk or take breaks and are expected to work like a robot as you are monitored by CCTV at every corner and fingerprint scanning system. Taking MC is a crime as it will affect your KPI. In general, there is no human rights. You have no freedom of expression or making decisions or else be prepared for ruthless bombarding by the management or you may find yourself being boycott secretly and have obviously less opportunities in your career. There is also a favouritism phenomena in the company (not meritocracy). In order to survive, the key to success is to be a yesman. No matter if you agree of disagree or how wrong the management can be, just say yes and praise their opinions in a very loud manner, that way you are guaranteed good prospects and career opportunities. The management is utterly unprofessional, they practice excessive skimping all over the organisation, endless lies and are very reactive to market conditions instead of proactive planning and managing and therefore they have no direction and constantly confuse staff. This excessive skimping practice has created endless issues for staff and customers. They would also throw insulting comments like "you are rubbish people" or "stupid". Do not expect appreciation from working hard, they will take it for granted and they do not invest in their people (training and opportunities). However, should you make mistakes, do expect all types of punishments without justification. Employees are all extremely demotivated and turnover rate is extremely high! The management is aware of this but they remain arrogant as they believe staffs can be replaced. Lastly, do expect heavy workload, a lot of red tapes and unrelated jobs.

CEO
I worked at Averis full-time (More than 3 years)
Pros
-You get to met all kind of awesome people. Especially your peers
- Surplus of trainings for you to indulge in as the company focus on people development
-Tons of activities for the staff to mingle around and get to know each other
Cons
-Salary is way below market, expect employees to work like slave with very low pay
-Favoritism everywhere, promoting non talent people to management levels if you know how to sugarcoat and sweettalk your superior. All the yes man.
- if you challenged the management decisions, you will not get any opportunities
- English level is way below competency level. Team Leaders and Seniors cant even do proper presentation with proper English. If you use “sophisticated” words in your project they will asked you to change as they don’t understand and deemed it is wrong
- No career growth. Repetitive work

"All The Hype About World Class"
Former Employee - Senior Lecturer in Subang Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan (Malaysia)
Doesn't Recommend
Negative Outlook

I worked at Taylor's University College full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Building Impressive.
Looks good only on sunny days.
Floods on rainy days.

Cons

Food too expensive. Insufficient proper parking.
Does not care about Students' welfare and their physical space needs in reality. Misleading promises. Some Staff not qualified, including top level. Criticised as illegal by the Industrial Advisory Panel, and called "Degree Mill". Very high fees charged to students but pay staff poorly.
Much politics and too much useless paperwork that make the school look good only but in reality its just hype. Always say no budget when there are not enough tables and chairs or space for students.
Poor maintenance of facilities despite charging exorbitantly. Air conditioning failure regularly. Poor coordination by Facilities Management.
No proper training for new staff brought in hurriedly to take over classes.
Modules without proper lecture notes yet expect staff and students to carry on.
No research time. Full Time staff overworked. Too many students and too few staff.
Care only about money, not education. Management by crisis.Show Less

Advice to Management

Listen to your Lecturers and students and act to improve.
Reply to comments by lecturers and students promptly. Expect staff and students to deliver but management could not bother. Frustrating and disengaging staff will lead to competent staff leaving.

"Review for Monash University Malaysia"
Current Employee - Senior Lecturer in Kuala Selangor (Malaysia)

Negative Outlook

I have been working at Monash University full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Nothing can be written here, I have been working here for less than one year, and I already submitted my resignation. One last advise for anyone reviewing this comment, If you are a reputable and respectable academic , monash malaysia is not for you.
simple words can summerize situation in monash malaysia " Worst Academic Institution in south asia" I had here the most awful 6 months in my life. If you offered any postion here, try to contact any one working in the university to know how this place is managed. Monash Malaysia achieve the highest turn out rate in Malaysian private universities.Show Less

Cons

Very bad salaries (the lowest in Malaysian academia )
Difficulty in arriving to work, you will need a taxi each day if you don't have a car (google taxi service in Malaysia to know what i mean)
High teaching load ( no time for a mature research)
Trashy and week research output ( google MyRA report for Monash Malaysia)
Lack of transparency in each situation and Fake Student evaluation reports to convenience you that you are a bad academic and don't deserve a promotion
No promotion (Monash Malaysia do not promote its stuff as the management doesn't want to increase any salaries)
Manipulative and Abusive Management and PVCShow Less

Advice to Management

Change your mind and mentally. The academic stuff is the most important part in any academic institution.
Revise the salaries for the academic stuff Or you will always be in the bottom
Be transparent and honest with your employees
Encourage your employees to excel and advance in their careers

EDIT: Corrected to add in full: "NOT a university, but a childcare kindergarten!"
This campus has extremely terrible reputation. Even local companies dislike the graduates from this campus. This is because as long as you have money, you can enroll in this campus. The quality of the students is therefore very very poor.

Cheating, faking results, and plagiarism among students frequently occur, possibly owing to irresponsibility, delinquency, and lazy attitude.

Overall, this campus is full of spoiled kids, not only from local students but also from the third world rclxms.gif

"Please provide a channel for employees to make legit complaints towards their superior or even bosses.", HR no longer a channel for employee, they support management and company benefit over employee benefit. They will make sure you been silent.

Malaysia have very weak worker union, this is why we are fxxk up when compare to Europe nation.

Hi badkid:
Pls add:
-M3 Technologies
-eProtea
-Atcen (dumbass ernie)

Typical chinaman companies, rest assured.

To revive back this thread and the reply on the answer from bro badkid on option 1..

If you are applying for developer or tech team support you will be pretty okay. Do not bother to apply under sales development as you will be treated like dirt once you start to get customer in for the company.

-Micro manage using their so call software
-Unreasonable of cold calls to company all over (to create customer base) which they are very desperate to have
-Not paying off relevant commission and claims by delaying it or with other excuses
-Do not trust the sales staffs
-No proper leadership as the rules can change any single time of the day
-Favoritism mostly on girls especially if you are better looking
-Does not have framework model to build the team
-Turnover of sales department no less than 30 a year (go figure out)
-Lots of accusations and slandering. GM of the sales dept is very young and inexperienced
-Empty promises and many ok & yes.
-Although the pay is average based on market rate; the longer you work here you will lose your identity.

Conclusion: If you are from the developer/tech support team you are like the testicles. It is important to have. If you are from the sales; you are like the pubic hair. Its nice to have to keep you warm but they may decide to go commando if they want to have a new look. Once they cut off the hair they will grow some new hair and then cut again. Looking at the recycling of sales staffs; they have pretty save a lot on the commission promised. NEw guy goes in to collect bad debts and the cycle goes on and on. While at it you are required to acquire new customers.

Do not bother to apply under the sales department as efforts will be wasted. Remember there is only 24 hours in a day. Make the hours count.
