QUOTE(pennzoil @ Jan 28 2017, 02:03 AM) Planing to get new box for living room use, currently own a minix x8h-plus Been headache in choosing neo u1 with older spec/high price tag but better firmware support or go for those S912 with 3GB/32GB... Applying Unfi 50mbs, currently 4mbps stimmyx Mainly for video streaming via apps/kodi Linked network storage for video library Can someone share some thoughts I would still go for the Minix Neo U1.. It's rock solid.

I own both Minix X8h (3 years) and newly acquired S912 H96 Pro Plus 3/32 gb. Minix is very reliable, whereas the other one still need time to tell. But thedifferences between S912 and the older neo u1 are hugh! If u want to stick with minix, wait for u9

On Lazada, search "kiii" or "kii" tv box for wetek "lookalikes"...no idea if it's the same. No idea on local seller... I've seen lookalikes for Himedia q5 pro with identical specs but perform significantly worse...so buyer beware... This post has been edited by dwRK: Jan 28 2017, 06:57 PM

That honour falls to the HiMedia Q5 Pro which is identical, specs wise, to the Q10 Pro only it lacks the hard drive bay the ‘senior’ model has. QUOTE(Lurker @ Jan 28 2017, 11:26 PM) That is wrong... From futeko.com... Q: Differences between HiMedia Q5 Pro and Q10 Pro? Q5 and Q10 Pro share the same chipset and have identical performance. Firmware is the same. The differences between the two are that Q5 Pro has: * No internal 3.5" HDD bay, * 8GB vs. 16GB storage, * No front touch buttons, * No coaxial digital audio port. PS... I dunno about firmware being the same... This post has been edited by dwRK: Jan 29 2017, 12:11 AM
