Works on a Nexus tablet but not on my windows 8.1 PC. Also, Its a bit suspect why it asks for admin rights to run on the PC.

that is strange.

yes, it asks for admin rights every time going in but it works very well on my pc.

I am using Windows 7 desktop (52" LED TV as monitor) , TVAPP v1.0, first posted here by AVFAN , so far so good, no problems.

Every night I watch Wimbledon 2015 Live using this App. Got 3 different Channels showing the same matches in English and Chinese (Foxsport/ESPN/CCTV5). So if one source not too smooth, I switch to another thumbup.gif

there is this app:
http://tvapp.so/

below was recently discussed in another thread:
i got great news for himedia q16 owners. update yr firmware to latest 1.0.9 and this tvapp will work, in hd. thumbup.gif

you will recognize many of the popular iptv hd channels, enjoy!

other android boxes should be able to do same with latest firmwares.

Upgrade my Minix Neo XH8 with latest firmware but still can't play TVAPP.
Guess need to wait for another firmware update.

But not a problem in Windows 8.1 and MAC and smooth too and in HD.
Yes best app so far

Hi guys, can please recommend an android tv box that can stream online English channel to be placed at shop? I have a Modeo now but it keeps lagging, keeps connecting. I would prefer English cartoon or news (preferably short as my customers usually views them from 5-30 minutes). The Tv is to distract the customers while waiting. Im using Unifi 10Mb and using HDMI LCD Tv. Please do recommend. Thank you.

1. modeo... i hv played with one before, does not come across as the best android device in the market. maybe it is fine but u need to know how to make it work well - firmware, apps, updates, etc.

2. public display - u know that is prohibited, copyright issues, stay away from trouble.
in yr case, i think best to get right authorized package from hypptv/unifi for yr purpose. hypptv has news, cartoons, sports, chinese, malay, tamil. and it is reliable even for 10mbps.

Please do not be misled. An android box cannot simply replace your Astro box n plans cuz they don't work the same way. If you want ease of use? Stick to your Astro package. If you want LOTS of tweaking and messing around with installation files, xmls, some codes here n there, then get an android box. A decent android box is just that, a box capable of running android apps. Will all apps work smoothly on it or all channels available 24/7? Nope! If you don't mind the above, then yeah, get a box. They are a great replacement. Buy a reputable box with support, minimum specs include a quad core CPU, 2GB ram & 16GB ROM for best results. Also bear in mind that even those myiptv or myhdtv or whatever not so legal paid subscriptions can fail at any time. No warranty/guarantees involved.

SOS: Cable cutter for almost 5 years now... nod.gif
