I'm new with this android box. I'm using pudding apps to stream hk drama. There is 3 setting sd hd and full hd. It's lagging even I use hd and sd. Is there specific DNS I need to set? Or any better apps to use?

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jul 4 2015, 12:54 PM) there is this app: i cant install it in my x8h. dont know why. but it works on my ipad mini 2.http://tvapp.so/ below was recently discussed in another thread: i got great news for himedia q16 owners. update yr firmware to latest 1.0.9 and this tvapp will work, in hd. you will recognize many of the popular iptv hd channels, enjoy! other android boxes should be able to do same with latest firmwares. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jul 10 2015, 04:50 PM) like i said, if yr androidbox can't play it now, chances are a new firmware is required - check with yr seller. i try update teh firmware and see how it goes i was so disappointed when i watched it work on pc but not on my box 3 weeks ago. last week, a new firmware got it working. this tvapp.so app is good, among the best one can ever find! latest version now is 1.1.5. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jul 12 2016, 10:57 AM) yes, majority of users do not care much about audio since only tv used, no home theater. i use ARC connect tv <> AVRi happen to be one who will insist on the best audio available. there are basically 3 types of audio - lpcm 2.0 (stereo), dolby/dts 5.1 (digital audio), dolby truehd/dtshdma 5.1/7.1 (hd audio). there is a fourth type getting popular now - dolby atmos/dts:x - most advanced hd audio on the planet. "pass thru" means the player will not downgrade any audio type but able to allow all of it to go on to the AVR untouched or whatever amplification device used. a device that cannot pass thru will downgrade the audio, i.e. dts to lpcm or dtshdma to dts. your case - smart tv + home theater? does the tv has digital audio output or arc? is your your home theater capable of hd audio? (i assume it can do at least do dd/dts.) if your tv can do digital output: player->tv via hdmi for video and audio tv arc or digital output->home theater for dd/dts 5.1 (u need hdmi or toslink or coaxial for this ), not with red/white rca. read your tv manual. if yr tv cannot do digital output: player->AVR (home theater) via hdmi AVR->tv via hdmi for video AVR/speakers will give u dd/dts 5.1; if yr AVR has hd audio capability, will give ddtruehd/dtshdma if the files played are such. thanks for sharing the video. unless i understood the guy wrong, i am appalled! he's saying minix u1 native player CANNOT do even dd/dts? he's also saying minix is not paying licensing fee for u1 but is for x8h plus. it is common devices can pass thru up to dd/dts only. however, there are some brands that have for years, provided ddtruehd/dtshdma in their models. i have 6 yr, 4 yr old boxes that has it. some latest boxes now come with dolby atmos and dts:x. e.g.: himedia q10pro/q5pro: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2807510/+360#bottom all my sources, e.g minix, ps4, bluray, hypptv go into AVR is my connection correct? or i need to connect as per above u mention tvbox into tv. then tv into avr. or is it a same thing? |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jul 13 2016, 02:00 PM) i don't quite follow... if this is the case, for my connection, if i plug in my device to tv i wont get sound coming out from my avr correct?if minix, ps4, bluray, hypptv go into AVR, then u just do avr hdmi output to one of the tv hdmi inputs for video. AVR->speakers will give u audio. no need ARC. ARC = Audio Return Channel. ARC is for audio from TV to return to AVR, then to speakers, which you don't need. ARC is useful for apps directly installed on smart TV or playback with TV usb port. QUOTE(voncrane @ Jul 13 2016, 02:46 PM) Correct me if wrong, it appears your AVR is the type capable of multiple HDMI inputs and at least on HDMI out? Means, it accepts video and audio connections, processes the signals, sends video off to the TV and audio off to the speakers... Delivered sound depends on source file and speaker configurations... If so, then leave as is. yes. i have multiple hdmi inputs and one output for my avr.As AVFAN explained... HDMI-ARC tech is mainly for routing audio from the TV (inbuilt) audio sources like USB playback, digital TV channels and TV apps (i.e. Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, etc) to say a connected AVR/Home Theater that supports the HDMI-ARC feature. Useful in cases where the Home Theater/AVR does not boast HDMI inputs. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jul 18 2016, 05:12 PM) audio output from a device can come from: thanks a lot! simple and clear .. hdmi (carries video as well) - this is the preferred way for both audio and video, the best tech available today. .. coaxial digital type rca .. toslink digital .. stereo l/r 1. the most straightforward case is device-hdmi-avr; avr-hdmi-tv for video; avr->speakers. 2. if u connect device-hdmi-tv, the tv gets all the video and audio. no avr involved. 3. if u connect device-hdmi-tv, and arc to avr, the audio returns to avr for processing->speakers. 4. can also connect device-hdmi-tv, device coaxial or toslink (or stereo l/r) to avr for digital sound (dd, dts but not hd audio which is only possible with hdmi cable). 4 is better than 3 becos tv arc would have processed/filtered the audio and tv audio capability is usually not good. as explained, 3 is normally used only when u are using tv as source, not external device. |
