I'm using an android tv box, namely CS918. It is quite ok to me (consider cheap comparing to those Minix model) since I didn't plant to spend a lot on these tv box. The specs seems ok and using it been good (smooth and no issues installing apps from google play). It is preinstall with Kodi and have no problem streaming videos in Kodi (sometimes facing longer time to stream as mine only internet speed of 4mb)
My question is, when want to stream videos from chinese apps (e.g VST, Togic and etc), it is always lag very slow. Is this normal? |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Aug 13 2015, 01:53 AM) There are a few factors to consider which can affect streaming speed. Poorly made apps or OS, hardware incompatibility, insufficient internet speed and home connection/bandwidth, etc. most importantly though is the source you are streaming from. For example, It's obviously much easier to stream HD online videos from YouTube servers than from a much smaller hosting site. IC, thanks for the advise. but fyi, it is damn slow streaming youtube now. it happened for few months already. my area will have unifi soon. hope unifi can perform better than streamyx... |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Aug 13 2015, 02:04 AM) 4mb is surely a problem for hd videos but shud be fine for sd. Cool, thanks for the advise. will try the pu-ding app u mentioned.vst and togic have geoblocks. they don't work well unless u r on vpn. try pu-ding - this one works very well, incl hd if yr speed is good. you should be able to find it in shafa: http://www.shafa.com/market Talk about VPN, are you using it? which vpn you can recommend if i want to access to those vst/ togic/ youku videos? |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Aug 14 2015, 11:49 AM) hitv apk can't be used on another brand, i tried before. I've tried the pu-ding app ytd. some shows it stream HD smoothly. but some it is still slow/ can't open at all. i think it is still the same back to the source it pulled from (e.g. youku, iqiyi, letv and etc). mango, i m not sure as i hv not tried the apk on another brand. the good thing about puding, hitv and mango is you get to select the resolution. if laggy, change to sd, usually OK. i normally can get "hd" or "super hd" and sometimes "bluray" on hitv and puding. mango... only sd. one good thing is it can pre-cache the shows. Looks like i have to opt for VPN, will try to source for some free trial first. |
