Anyone knows which Android TV Box have browser that can access and play streaming website? Kodi too complicated for my old man so I need one that can browse to streaming website and stream from there like how I stream on internet browser via PC.
*
... any decent android box will have a native browser for u to do that. u can also install yr own browser.

... if not using android functions, can get an htpc (home theater pc) or a pc stick. but these are not necessarily cheaper.

unfortunately, no one has started a pc stick thread yet here.

one thing i find streaming from browser based sites... the video quality tends to be low.

u should check out the "pc" options at an IT store.

bro, need your help on my minix neo 7

after i flash with 250, my iptv hdtv all crash

i try to flash again but still same

do you face this issue b4?

tq
*
Nope I didn't, cuz while I had the Neo X7 (years back), wasn't using myiptv or hdtv, etc.. probably a compatibility issue. Depending on how important those specific apps are to you, you could either seek out or wait for a fix, contact the developers and request an update containing a fix or rollback to a previous firmware where the apps functioned properly.

Kodi can be customized.. Install a supporting skin and addons... Then configure well placed easy to reach favorites and shortcuts. Make use of library integration etc.. Once satisfied with the customizations.. Set Kodi to be launched automatically upon box boot up.. Dad profits!

The hypptv box is nothing close to a decent box.. TM chose it for a specific reason and don't care about it being used for anything else. Rightly so.

Meaning if I get a decent android tv box like the mi box or MXQ and install UC browser/Google Chrome then it can play videos embedded in website?

cuz I though since it can't do so on hypptv box means its more of a app/software unable to support rather than hardware

That's not normal behavior.. At the very least, if its unable to maintain accurate time while powered off, at boot up, it should sync it's time over the Internet.

i have seen this.

first, u set to local auto date and time to follow internet data.

try not to unplug the device every time.

becos each time u do that, it may reset, needs time for it gear up again for the date/time.

next time it happens (power on, internet connected), leave it there for 5 mins, see what happens.

generally speaking, any box with a browser on a fair internet speed will work.

however, unlike a pc which is always more powerful, a box may lack certain essentials in the firmware and software.

a proper android box will have all the essentials, designed and built for the purpose of online streaming to the tv.

an android phone or tablet does the same.

the hyppbox alto an android, is built to do hypptv only, not sideload user apps. but it will work to an extent with limitations if u know how.

not only the firmware or software is poor but the hardware too:

hyppbox is 0.6/1.9gb, memory good for hyyptv.
compare that to a 2/16gb box with all the niceties!

i also set my hypptv box as my android box for the second tv, mainly just to watch hypp tv (which very rarely biggrin.gif ), kodi (simple setup with phoenix, exodus, locals, sportsdevil) and an ahem iptv subs. so far so good with about 600 mb left. have a cache cleaner to clear cache too.
my minix downstairs meanwhile have loads of things rclxms.gif

Successful playback depends on compatible software and hardware. Also remember that flash embedded videos on websites tend to be hit and miss on some devices and or browsers. I'm not a fan of either the Mibox or MXQ & so can't really comment on if the site and videos will function properly.

Check the app's info/help/about section for a contact method. Can also Google. Flashing the box takes as long as it should, done right, it should only take a few minutes from start to finish. Make sure to reboot once after the upgrade.

Good Day,
I'm looking for android TV Box,
that has TVB drama series and HI-Five musical show, this is most important to me.

Let me know which model can support and got the update for this show.

Preferably the language in English, as I can't read Chinese words

Btw, I got Unifi. So I'm not worry about speed
i'm more concern on the channels.

Hi guys smile.gif

So now I have 2 options on hand... MiniX and Mi Box...

Am getting it for my parents, to watch HK drama and news (international and local)

The 2 options I listed seems to be having almost the same price...can anyone tell me what are the pros and cons of that 2?

Thanks a lot!!!

1. a box is just an empty box. until somebody or u put something called apps in it.
so, there is no box can come with this or that for sure.
but most box sellers preinstall the common apps - which u may want or not want.
some box sellers sell ahem (illegit) packages as well - that, u will have to ask in private.
many users seem to happy about them.

2. for the same class of android and memory, all of them should work the same - theoretically.
the differences lie in hardware quality, firmwares, updates, user support for maintenance and trouble shooting.
these differences can be significant in terms of video and audio output quality, and accepting certain apps to be installed.

3. in general, english and mandarin stuff are easy to find - live tv or video on demand.
other languages or dialects, subtitle requirements will be less easy, less in content or less reliable.

4. the best way to get a good idea about what u want/need is go visit a neighbor or friend who has what u are looking for. check for yrself, ask all the questions before u buy.

5. over time, if u hv the interest and the patience, u will be able to get a lot more out of a decent box on yr own. android boxes have been in the market for a good few years now, incl those in smart tv's.

What specific Minix box? If Neo U1, I can answer specific questions about it.. Also, for the bold part above, got a source? Cuz buying a box alone does not equal getting such..

Hi, thanks for the explanation!

Based on my understanding, apps are what I should be really looking at, and secondly, the hardware of the box.

@Voncrane, how much is the Neo U1? For the things I want to watch, I found sellers who said they can install it to the box (for Mi Box). Haven't found a seller who can do the same for Minix as of now...will continue to search around.

You can find a seller at Digital mall, PJ for MiniX where they install apps for you. 1st floor right beside the escalator. I bought my Himedia there and they install the apps for me. So far 1 year on, everything still ok.

Mind tell me why did you chose HiMedia?

1st floor right beside the escalator? It is a small booth right? Do you have contact info for the seller?
