I'm currently using the Minix Neo X7 and it's a beast.. Runs smoothly with firmware upgrades + forum support. If you can wait a couple more months, Minix will be releasing the X8 .. Though the X7 is perfectly fine as it even supports 4TB external hard drive.

*The Minix "brand" has been around for a couple of years and they stand by their boxes, providing apps and firmware support.
*There's an official forum specifically for Minix owners.
*I've owned the Neo X7, Neo X8-H Plus and now the Neo U1. Each flagship devices and have been satisfied with their performances.

In case you or others were wondering, this is not a sales pitch or some form of blind loyalty to a brand. I do my research each time and allow sufficient time after each device release to gather real world usage data, before pulling the trigger on any of my electronic devices... For more pros and cons, you should read my earlier posts and that of others on the Neo U1 or Neo X8-H Plus. If you have any specific questions pertaining to the Neo U1 that haven't already been answered in previous reviews, I'd be glad to take em

*The latest firmware is version 2.5.0, it's Kitkat and was released earlier this year in February. Here's the direct download link. You are to do a fresh install. The download link contains the necessary drivers and flashtool.
*The Minix Neo X7 has HDMI 1.4a and supports full HD output up to 1080p. So depending on your TV and source file, you should get 1080p.
*There are 3 USB 2.0 ports. Simply plug in an external drive to access. Preferably formatted to NTFS.
As mentioned earlier, unlike countless other android manufacturers out there, the Minix team stands by their box and provides support and upgrades. That's the extra price you have to pay, as such don't come cheap. IMO, it's a few extra RM, I'd rather pay for premium hardware & design, a decent firmware and easy to access online support. As for listing pros and cons for the above, I'm sorry, you would have to scan and read through this thread and others, as the information is public. In simpler terms:
U1 > X8-H Plus > X7.
Hahaha.. Yeah, I remember the feeling.. About 5 years ago...  Good thing is, it's wayyyy much easier to setup & enjoy today than just last year.. Much harder years ago..

I advised you update via PC to the latest firmware version which is V2.5.0, posted links, help and everything and yet you flashed 010? I also noticed your complaints in the 010 thread over at minix forums and despite the similar response given that you clean flash the latest firmware using a PC, you still ignored it. Well, can't help if one refuses to be helped. Once again:
*Using a PC (MUST), download and perform a clean flash of the latest firmware. Yes, you will lose all apps, settings and data. So might as well perform a factory reset upon boot completion after a successful flash.
*Do NOT use the USB/SD card method.

That's not normal behavior.. At the very least, if its unable to maintain accurate time while powered off, at boot up, it should sync it's time over the Internet.

Nope I didn't, cuz while I had the Neo X7 (years back), wasn't using myiptv or hdtv, etc.. probably a compatibility issue. Depending on how important those specific apps are to you, you could either seek out or wait for a fix, contact the developers and request an update containing a fix or rollback to a previous firmware where the apps functioned properly.
Kodi can be customized.. Install a supporting skin and addons... Then configure well placed easy to reach favorites and shortcuts. Make use of library integration etc.. Once satisfied with the customizations.. Set Kodi to be launched automatically upon box boot up.. Dad profits!
